Hi Cutegirl,
I own a Futura and with it came "AutoPunch" software. This will enable you to transform pictures/cliparts to embroidery files.
But don't be disappointed. The desings turn out very ugly, lots of jump stitches, bulk and no details. I am not satisfied with that.
Additionally I bought a digitizing software called "Futura Hyperfont"- this digitizes automatically every font installed to your computer and this works very good.
I purchased now PE Designer by brother.
If you really want to have useful and pretty designs I think you will need a professional digitizing programm where you can INFLUENCE what is going on. AUTOMATIC punching don't give you that opportunity.

Digitizing is very hard work and takes very much time and it is no wonder, that we have to pay for good designs- that's why copyright is so important.
I beg you all to respect this by the way.

And that is why a freebie page is so unbelievable wonderful. Thanks here to all involved.

ZIP is a fileformat which compresses data for speedy download from the internet. You can not use them immediately. You have to "unzip" them.
Mark the file by clicking it, then right click and a menu opens, which offers you "extraction" or somewhat. My computer speaks german and says extrahieren. Then you decide where to store the extracted files. Not all of them will be useful for you. Many zipped files offers different file formats for different embroidery machines.
For futura it is compucon or xxx.
But I decided to collect PES files, the format for brother machines. Futura is able to read them.
A wonderful site for singer freebies is of course the singer homepage.

Have a nice day.
Eva

I don't know about the singers, sorry hon,The zip patterns I assume are the zip files that have to be unzipped or opened. Generally your computer will have an unzip on it. I generally right click and hit un zip, select a location, and hit the button. then i have to put the file on disk to take to the other computer hooked up to my machine. I have a brother 1500D

Hi welcome to Cute. I cannot answer your question as I have a Brother machine and PE design which is totally different to whatever Singer uses. Hopefully someone else will see your message who does know. Just thought that where ever you bought your machine from they will know. Most reputable dealers give support and assistance plus a free lesson. Anyway Happy Sewing
