What is the difference between designs made for FSL and regular designs besides the bobbin is the same color as the top thread? Can regular designs be turned into FSL designs?

Hi, and welcome to Cute!! Can regular designs be turned into FSL? No, FSL has to be digitized differently so all the stitches connect and hold the lace together. Regular designs are digitized to be stitched onto some kind of cloth, and aren't designed to be interlocking stitches, you'll have a real mess if you try that. And just because the design is called "lace" or "lacy", make sure it is actual Free Standing Lace before you use it. FSL has very high stitch counts, if you're unsure, best to ask the digitizer. Best of luck to you!! Marji

Thanks for the answer. I thought it might have to do with the type of stitching done. Your answer has cleared up the differnces and this will definitely help me in selecting designs.
