does anyone know how to take a photo and turn it into a pes design? i dont have the software for that gotto save up for that just curious do any of you live in australia or am i it lol

Hello dear Paulie05, welcome to the "Cuties Family". I live in an suburb of Melbourne. Sorry, I could not help you yet with digitizing a photo. I have only just purchased a program for the Janome. I find it impossible to follow written instruction, so I have managed to learn by trial and error to digitize manually prepared designs. I could help you with those if you were close. Let me know! I am 3 hrs from shytown I'm in Sheboygan WI an hr North of Milw and an hr South of Green Bay

Hi U R not alone i live in south aust on the york peninsula. PE design lite, 6 or 7 will digitise photos for you and alot more. The price ranges from $899 upwards 7 will prob set u back about 2,000 from a shop. For anyone in Aus who needs a PE design i have a brand new design lite for sale $700 ( $650 for cute friends) :) retails on special for $799.sorry to advertise here hope ive not done anything wrong by doing so? anyway good luck someone may help out and convert it for you :) take care happy sewing

Welcome to the Cute family Pauline, I live at Penrith, NSW and I know there are many more Aussies here that haven't answered you yet, probably busy with School Holidays and Grandkids. I also digitise and have done several portraits using Embird's Sfumato (photostitch) haven't been able to stitch any of them out though as my machine seized up before I'd had it 7 months, under warranty of course. You have got some good answers, just want to say welcome to this fabeoulous site. Hope you enjoy it.

You need the software to do it. Most brands have the feature to do photos, either in the main package or as add-ons. I use Viking software, which has it as part of the Pro-package, or as an add-on if you start with the basics. Quite a few girls here use Embird. Enjoy your new machine and start researching the software options. You can ask any question here. Welcome to the site!

I live in South Australia.
The only way you can turn an image into a design is by digitizing. I have Janome Digitizer Pro. If the photo is nice and clear it can be done manually without using the photo stitch feature. Have a look at the 2 horses I digitized, on my web site, Kara and Sunny.I digitized them both from photos.

Wow Ricky, that must be a lot of work, digitizing a picture manually. You are surely good at what you do. *

With Pe-design you can make designs out of pictures by using the photo stitch feature. Don't know much about other programs. *2U
