Do any of you digitize for a fee?

As long as the person doesn't intend to sell the end product I don't mind digitising for free.

But if you have never digitised a design, you should me made aware that it takes far longer for digitisers to digitise a design than it takes for people to stitch them out. For this reason I don't think it is fair to expect any digitiser to spend so much time for nothing if the sewer is going to make a profit from all the digitisers' hard work.

I, myself, am extremely pedantic about my work, to the extent that my last design took me well in excess of 30 hours to create, not including minor revisions after test stitchouts.

Having said that, I rely on the honesty of the person requesting the free design and hope their conscience will guide them to do the right thing.

If you do wish to pay for a design, knowing how long it takes me to perfect mine, I would have to give you a flat quote for the end design based on difficulty rather than time taken, otherwise you might need a key to Fort Knox to pay for it. LOL!

And then of course there is the issue of copyright to be adhered to with regards ownership of any pictures you want digitised.
The Digitiser is probably more at risk than the sewer in this area as the sewer could always blame the digitiser if they got caught out selling articles with embroidery of copyrighted art work.
If you would care to write to me privately my email is in my profile or you can just click on private message from profile page.
Hugs n roses, Meganne

What Meganne had said about copyright is correct. That is why I have permission to digitize all of the designs on my website. If you would like something specific digitized, I might be able to use one of my own graphics or clipart for which I have permission. I also have permission to digitize designs from Clipartopolis, Designstitch, DesignCollectables, Clipartoon and ZonerDraw. So, if you need something digitized, I will need to know where you got the graphics from.
