I have Janome Digitizer Pro, so I don't know about your "buttons", hee hee hee. When you auto or semi-auto digitize, you import a clipart image into the digitizing program, and hit a button. The computer program decides which stitches to use, colors, etc. In manual digitizing, everything is up to you. You may import the same clipart, but every step is decided by you. How you will path the design, which underlay, which fill stitch, which color sequence, etc. You manually trace the outlines of the areas you wish to digitize, one by one, and have total control of the process. Maybe someone with PED will be able to help you more. There are good tutorials on digitizing out there, and it's a truly satisfying way to be creative. Also, after your first few flub ups, you have a much greater appreciation for good designs, and what goes into creating them! Best of luck to you! Marji
