I have 4D pro and love it! I think it is easy once you learn the basics - but it takes a lot of effot on your part to get to the digitizing. Now I've conquered that I'm learning a lot more of the other features.

I want to thank you all for your comments. I have 4Dembroidery Extra I bought it when I got my machine. It came with 3D and didn't know it. I have installed it on my laptop but haven't really gotten into it yet. Your saying this program will do as much as Embird?????????? or should I get Embird as well????

I have 4D Pro - I am learning all of the modules - or trying to, and have purchased the additional 4D family portrait. I have found so far that it is easier to use, but still puzzles me as to getting the digitizing done, but am taking users classes. If you have 3D you have until December to get the upgrade allowance. That helps, as the software is expensive.

I have 4D Extra and love it. It is very similar to 3D but improved. I don't use all of the features. It has more potential than I use. I love the fact that you can actually see the fonts before selecting and tpying it out. The view feature is great. It has limited digitizing but I haven't gotten into it. I understand that the 4D Professional is really great but of course a lot more money!

I don't know. Is it the software that comes with your machine? If so your dealer should be able to tell what added features are in it. Some times, its more Fonts and a program added like Cross stitch or applique. You may not want to pay to up grade and get so little.

I have 4D extra. The parts I've used I like very much. I have only digitized one design and it was done by auto-digitizing. I just haven't had time to really get into the digitizing end. But I do a lot of editing, combining,
adding lettering, and resizing. It's a snap to do those. I would suggest you go to a dealer and have them give you a demo if possible. Good Luck.******

I have 4D but not the extra. But I don't have any desire to digitize and the 4D lets me resize, combine, convert formats, change colors, wording and other stuff I haven't learned yet and I love it! It seems to be very user friendly and so far has done everything I've needed it to do. Your dealer can help you also as long as they dont try and sell you the most expensive. Jeez they've got one that costs more than my machine! Have fun and keep us posted.

Good question. I have had 3D Pro since the beginning of 2005, have thought about upgrading to 4D, but still don't know all the extras in 4D. There's a video on the Husqvarna site that shows some things, one of which I liked very much. Very interested to read the answer to your question.
