Singer has refused it for warranty repair! I have to pay $129.00 to get my baby back. Has anyone had any experience with this? Or Singer warranty in general? My machine is 1 1/2 yrs old. Thanks Cuties for any advice!

Sorry I have not answered any or your suggestions. I just got home from work, so here goes. This is the dealer that I bought my machine from. I have taken it in for repair before and even though it was my fault, I was using the wrong size bobbin, he repaired it at no charge. His shop is about 40 mins away so not to bad. He does do the repairs on site. I am going to call Singer, and speak with a supervisor if necessary before going to the dealer. I work customer service (have for way too many years) and I know you can get anything if you make enough noise!!!!! Wish me luck, I am calling Singer first thing in the AM and going to get my machine after that. Will keep you posted. Thanks everyone!

Listen to jrob babyred. A warrenty should begood for what it says. I'm wondering if Singer knows the dealer is saying this. Perhaps they need to be told. *4U

Is your dealer trying to get paid twice; 1 by Singer and 1 by you? Ask to see their paper work from Singer.

Where you had your machine repaired is the one that has to turn an repair invoice or such to Singer, not you. So get with the repair people as they should have already done this for you,

I would do that too. A warranty for 5 years.......if they don't stand by it ............why bother to give it. I'd keep right after them to come with " yes we will honor it" or I would find out why. *4u

Take your paperwork in and most dealers will try to work with the company to get your work covered under warranty, after all they want your repeat business. Tell them you know they want to help you and if they still can't ask THEM what they suggest you do. Then go call customer service at Singer. When they tell you they can't honor your warranty keep asking for their supervisor until you get someone who can or has the authority to override. Make them explain WHY a written warranty is no good.

I was told once that all singer Machines had to be mailed in to be repaired, which turned me off immediately. I think you are correct to get dealer to help!! I am mad to drive 45min to dealer, but they repair on site and sometimes while you shop. That is why I keep buying Berninas for 30 years. I'm not saying Bernina is better, I'm saying, I am happy with my dealer.

I am fortunate to have a great dealer... they're 2 miles away and have never charged me a dime... love my singer. :-) xoxo

Take your warranty paperwork to the dealer.... My XL6000 specifically states a 5 year computer/electronic warranty (in fact, mine was in the shop last week and was 100% covered)... what is their reason behind not honoring the warranty for the charge???

You poor thing! Is this the dealer you bought the machine from? Are you near the store you made the original purchase at?
