the contest they are running. In August, they are giving one away, and in order to enter the contest, you had to take a "test drive". Well, that dear man sat there and waited for the 4 women in front of him to do their thing before his turn came around. It probably took about 45 min. Finally, he got his test sew and was entered in the contest so that he would have a chance, albeit a very slim one, to win the machine for me. What a guy! No wonder I love him with all of my heart!

Awwww, isn't he the sweet one, though. My late DH was like that, too. He bought me the Janome 300E, then said if I was doing it, to do it right. So he bought the Digitizer Pro and a new laptop for me to do all my digitizing on. He proudly wore a sweatshirt with the "US Marines" logo on it that I had done for him, the day before he passed on. You hug your man, I don't blame you for loving him with all your heart. Glad you told us, make sure you tell him, too, every day. Marji

That was wonderful of him. There are a lot of us in that drawing pool. I'm one of the hopefuls. If anyone here wins it please let us know!

Have to share my "DH" story. I have a D1 HV emb machine. Wanted a "little emb. machine" to take in our RV. Went into Sewing Center to 'look' and ended up with DH buying me the Brother Innov4000D, Which I love with a passion! Hardly ever emb. with the Viking. He is a 'tool man' and believes to do a job, you need the correct tools, and he supports my 'passion' as much as his own, which is woodcarving. So there are many of us very blessed women, to have wonderful men!

Barb, how sweet of your husband to try to win that Machine for you. My sweetie would not dare go in a Joann's. I think my son-in -law was intimidated in a Joann's store when he tried to buy something using a coupon. You know they changed their coupon policy a couple of years ago. I also saw the new Machine very briefly. It has a large hoop and large sewing area to roll up quilts. I think they called it the Designer Diamond and with software included the price was 11 thousand.

In our area the cost was $8,999.00. Those that put a 200.00 deposite on the machine before it came out also got a free roll carry case for the machine and also a carry case for the embroidery unit. Made it much easier to transport- just like a piece of luggage!

The demonstrator was also going to throw in the huge hoop.

Oh lucky you!!! its not easy to find such a nice DH! Not many guys will do this. THey might find it weird etc but u have such a caring, nice & initiative guy!!! At least he bothers to take 45mins of his time for the test drive. Good luck! Hope he wins that machine home.

What a patient man, and wish him luck.( or would that be you?) I know someone who actually won a Designer 1 a few years back when they had something like that through the Joann's website. I can't win anything - or so it seems.

You are a very lucky lady Auntbaba. In fact we are both blessed with our d.h's. My d.h. of 48years will also go into the sewing shop (albeit with a note) to get something for me... this despite his complete inability to understand my fabric stash. I reckon that's indeed blessed. Good luck with the contest draw.

No man understands a fabric stash. Also they don't understand the need to keep old patterns.
