thread since I can't find Finishing Touch in this area. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

I have an EllalgeoSG3,have filled bobbins with the finishing touch which came with it, and have used NEBS for a long time-love them. Use my top thread for FSL, and regular sewing thread when I just sew. The only ones it didn't like were the sideless bobbins.
That said, I have always lowered the top tension because of bobbin thread showing. With the latest upgrade, I can set it to be minus 3 or 4 without having to do it every time. It solved the problem for me.

I have not had any problem with regular sewing, just when I embroidery. Thanks for your answer. *4U

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I don't change it for sewing, either. Just the embroidery. I had first noticed it didn't look as nice as my sister's Viking did. And when they say that you should see so much upper thread on the bottom--I didn't. When I decreased the top tension, it didn't pull so hard on the bobbin, and I am more satisfied with the results. Good luck on finding your solution. *4U

When my daughter had an Ellure she always used YLI with no problems, she upgraded to an Ellegante & it didn't like the YLI as much. Now I love the finishing Touch & keep an eye out on Ebay 4 it all the time I usually grab it as soon as it comes up. I believe I would give my dealer a call & ask what they suggest. I take my machine once a yr. to the dealer to b serviced have u done this? I noticed U say it's 1 yr. old. *4U

I have been thinking of upgrading..maybe now is a good time! I took the Ellure back to be serviced today and they told me they had some Finishing Touch ordered. Yea! Maybe this will solve the problem. I have been using YLI. Thanks *4u

Have you tried using your own bobbins wound with Bobbin Fill. Some machines don't like prewound bobbins.Surely the people who sold you the machine would have the right sort of bobbin fill in stock.

I have never bought prewound bobbins, always filled my own. I think the shop is not trying to stock Finishing Touch. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Thanks, *4u

I have a Babylock Ellegante, the only bobbin thread that works well for me is the Finishing Touch. I know that Montaville.com in Oregon carries this, and they do mail order. I know of no other place, sorry!! Hugs and flowers.

Finishing Touch is what came with the machine, I'll just keep trying to find some. Thanks for the Montaville site.

I bought the Finishing Touch at the dealer where I bought my machine, but that store is 3 hours away so good luck to you in finding any. I don't know if they have it online or not.

Wish I could find some Finishing Touch...that's the one that came with the machine. Thanks *4u

I hope you can also. I guess next time I get to the dealer where I bought mine that I'd better stock up on it.

I have the Ellure Plus. I tried using pre-wound bobbins and the tension was a mess, so I use 60wt. bobbin thread by The Finishing Touch and wind it on the bobbins that came with the machine. I don't have any problems now except when I tried using Madera Bobbinfil. Don't know why that gave me problems but it did. Hope this helps.

I have a janome 10001 which used to/does that. A service improved it, but it will only stitch nicely with Janome or Brother bobbin thread. I have a collection of other brands, but they all pull through to the top even after a full service. Maybe try different brands of bobbin thread. when I looked closesly at the threads, the janome and brother look thicker and different texture to the guterman, maderia, birch and others that I have in the bottom drawer! The others seem a little shinier, whatever it is my machine is fussy. I don't think you are doing anything 'wrong' just some machines are fussy and once we get the hang of their idiosyncrisies they usually work well for us.

Thanks, I think it might be the bobbin thread I'll just keep trying different ones until I find one that works. *4U

I don't know anything about Baby lock, but was your dealer not able to correct or tell you what caused it? maybe try heavier or more than one piece of stabilizer.

Thanks, I've tried two layers of stabilizer...still pulls through on top. It works o.k. for a while after I get it back from the shop then reverts back to doing the same thing. *4u
