If your scissors begin to get blunt, rub the blades along a piece of sandpaper once or twice.

Keep ANY tiny scraps of water soluable stabilizer (wss). Mix 1 part WSS and 5 parts water in a spray bottle. Great instead of starch! Use to hold FSL (free standing lace) in a certain position once done stitching.

Check your BOBBIN thread before beginning a design. Wash towels, clothing before embroidering. Iron first to smooth out the wrinkles.

Keep your water soluable stabilizer (wss) in a moisture proof tube with a snap shut lid or a plastic baggy that will not allow moisture in.

If you are having a problem getting a bulky item in under the needle to embroider, remove the presser foot and the needle, slide the hooped item in and then replace the needle and foot.;)

Yes remember to change your embroidery needle out for a new one often to keep getting excellent results with your embroidery. I've been embroidering designs today with 35& 40000 sstitches every 2 designs or every 2 hrs I used a new needle. If I didn't the design wasn't looking as smooth an even as it should.
