Glad you are making progress. As someone else implied, you get more done injured than I do on a usual day. Lol
I have slow down a lot but thank you. I need to keep moving to get this stiffness out, but just moving slower.
So glad you are healing and improving, Toogie...
Thanks, didn’t see yesterday but I do have 20 of my 48 stars made- we are out of electricity and probably won’t get any back on till tonight or tomorrow. Had storms come through yesterday.
Were you ever diagnosed with ADD? LOL (No offense to anyone meant.) You've been busier than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Your motivation puts me to shame. I alway love to see what you are "up to".
It was with great pleasure to hear from you, and see you are up and running. Well, perhaps running is a little over the top. "G" Really missed your lovely chats about the family and your patchwork.
Just because you are feeling a little better no racing around trying to catch up, you know the saying slowly, slowly, catches the monkey.
I have never heard this saying, but it does make sense. It is fun to learn of sayings from different parts of the world. You are right though, no racing for me-lol- As I said, I am working on some quilt blocks again. The first day nine made. Yesterday made eleven more, so little by little I am getting there.
Nice to hear from you again. I hope your wrist keeps improving. You are lucky to have a hubby to help you cut out pieces for your quilts. I would not dare let mine try. LOL Sorry about your brother in law. Sounds like he had a great life. Keep enjoying time with your family. Love & Hugs
I had to laugh when you said, 'I would not dare let mine try'. Actually, I do the cutting, he holds my rulers in place, so they don't slip. I never did have too much strength in my hands but me holding a ruler with one hand while cutting with the rotary cutter just doesn't work. My ruler most always shifts a little. Thanks about everything. Movements are improving daily.
Oh Toogie I pictured him cutting away at your lovely fabrics. lol. Great help though with holding the rulers. I don't think my hubby would have the patience to do that,
Shirley, I think he relates to sewing like I relate to carpentry. It's all math and cutting pieces to fit. I like carpentry bc the wood doesn't move like fabric does, but it's just a lot heavier.-lol I helped him build our house and other projects and he helps me by just holding the ruler. He tells my friends I won't let him cut or iron. I tell them that's why, he IRONS instead of pressing and stretches my bias pieces!-lol Cutting is another matter, he's left handed and I know some quilters are. I tell him if pieces are cut accurately, the blocks won't go together accurately. I guess I just don't trust him to cut-lol But I do let him cut the bottom edge of my hair- The first time he did though, when I saw that left elbow go up instead of down to cut I had misgivings. It all turned out well though and so he continues to trim the bottom edge. I haven't been to the hairdresser in years, but if my wrist doesn't start rotating better so I can cut it, I will need to.
It's so good to hear you are progressing. Osteoporosis is a nasty condition to have. It may have slowed you down, but you keep on living as normally as possible. Enjoy your leafy greens and calcium. Hugs and I think you deserve a medal for managing to be starting your 50yh quilt for Veterans. Add to that number the quilts you have made, finished or refurbished and I think you deserve to be in the Guinness book of Records. Thanks for catching us up on the family events. Hope Avery and every other family member including you remain whole and healthy.
Yes I have made over 100 if you count my other quilts. We ( hubby and me) just cut out 187 small pieces for 11 more 6.5 inch Stars. I will sew them while he goes to another funeral of a friend of his family. That will give me 20 stars but I will still need 28 more!
Toogie, I'd say you are doing a great job with a difficult situation! I think that is the "Mom" in us. Please don't overdue - you have a lovely family, I know who will continue to help you! Loads of hugs to you and continued prayers!!
Hi toogie I am going to read this later when I can take it all in.
Update. Well now I have been able to sit and quietly read your activities. As ever your life sounds so fun, full and busy. Toogie you cannot keep a good woman down and inspite of all happening with your wrist you have worked out how to sew. I laughed out load at your story with Ashley telling Quince what you had said. Yes I am sure your face was red but... I am sorry your husbands ledest brother has died and I have had a few say that they said goodbye to friends and family twice, once when the dementia took a big grip on them and eventually when they died. Keep remembering the good times and pleas, please keep up your keeping us updated. And take care
We had some good times with Bertha and Quince whether it was camping, fishing/boating, card games ( when Quince would get little Ashley to tell him who had the rook card😉), traveling, etc. was always fun times.
