US news. Joanns craft and fabric is filling bankruptcy. The stores will stay open for now.

The local Joanns expanded to their current location prior to Covid. I'm not sure I can afford for them to "move" again.

Thanks for telling us this. I had no idea. I know we are all surprised by this news. We have lost so many great stores. Sad to see another in danger of closing.

I first heard about this Thursday at my Bobbins group meeting. Then I went to Hobby Lobby Friday and the fabric cutter there told me. She used to work at JoAnns a year or so ago. She said the manager at JoAnns told her. Then of course it was official when it came on the news. I buy there and at Hobby Lobby, or order online.

Well judging by the lack of replies many of you are in deep shock

I read that they will be closing a few stores in the East. I sure hope that is all.

Sounds like it's the lesser form of bankruptcy where they get rid of the unprofitable stores and re-emerge as a smaller, leaner, smarter profit-making chain. Hope it works.

I read this news earlier today. I know that many Cuties are going to miss this chain of shops very much, if they are unable to stay open. I have heard many good things about Joanns. Fingers crossed that it remains open
