Wow, never heard of that straw trick but using that next. I have a 2 lb plastic box of them in the refrigerator now for slicing and eating. Put some on ice cream. I haven't made jam, jelly or syrup in a long time. Husband eats strawberry jam every other day on toast with peanut butter for short term breakfast--or later in the day as a snack. He's been getting the Smucker's store brand though as I don't get out to pick the YouPick fields anymore. When I made jams I used the canner but years ago used the wax as taught by my mother. Yummy!! You have Raspberries too, yum, then pick the blueberries. Oh man, would love that.
John loves Smuckers to.But homemade is better he says .I don't eat much jam .I just make it lol Thanks my Pea Farmer :):)
Carolyn, looks delicious. I have used the straw trick when I make my berry salads. My family can eat a lot of that salad. The jam looks good. I haven't made any in years, when we would go out with out girls and pick the wild strawberries that grew on our property when we lived in North Carolina. They were so much smaller than yours - about the size of a large raspberry, but so good.
Looks like you have a good supply to enjoy.
Oh Carolyn this jam looks yummy . It’s a while since I made strawberry jam. Enjoy eating it through the winter months and remembering your summer
Yummy! I've heard of using the straw to remove the leaves. I'm glad to see it is easy and effective. You have brought back memories of making jams and jellies with my mother. She also used paraffin wax to seal the jars. I know you will enjoy your strawberry jam all winter long as well as the people you gift a jar to.
These look so yummy! I know it’s a job but so rewarding. Love it!
Noah Kitchen Industries hard at work again, I see. They look delicious. Try some on corn muffins!
