Hello Cuties, I’m trying to get started again but it’s been a slow start this year. Only my second QOV top and we are already into March. I made this top by looking at the picture of Seasons of the Heart by Susan Winget from Wilmington prints. I wanted mine a little bigger. Mine is 62x85 and the picture of it said 58x79. This top will be given to another member to quilt. I will then get it back to sew the binding and label on, before presenting to a veteran.

I laid fabric to see which color to use for borders around the panel. My hubby liked the bright red. I thought it was a good choice.
Last photo is what I had to go by. It was hard to see the different pieces, at times. I also arranged my half square triangles differently and used light where they had dark or dark where they had light.

Dolly here are a couple of examples of the quilts I made starting with a panel. There are many more if you want to look back but most are patriotic panels. Most are about 22x43 inch. A lot of quilters in my group pass the panels they get on to me. They don’t like the math involved figuring how to add the borders and blocks because you have to remember to add or subtract seam allowances. Good luck if you’re looking for something specific. Toogie, fantastic work and my question... are the letters separately added or how do you do them?? Many thanks for doing the quilts!!!

Thank you, the letters are printed on a panel of fabric that was purchased. Look in the pictures of the fabric panel before I added the border strips of fabric. Google fabric panels and see what you find. You’ll be surprised.-lol The sunflower quilt I made my granddaughter is posted here in Sewing. The center of it was a panel I built blocks around to make it bed size. I don’t think I can add the link in this comment. If I can’t I’ll try to post above in the comments.

Fantastic. When are the quilt classes set to begin? Let me know so I can find cheap airline tickets since I'll have lots of baggage. :)

Thanks I was thinking if I make another id use dark fabrics where the pattern shows and light where they were too, to give the center a more Diamond shape. Honestly though once I try one pattern I don’t want to make it again.

Thank you Suzanna . The veterans are all surprised at the variety of quilts and seem to each love the one they are awarded.

Wow! Toogie, another outstanding quilt. I love your interpretation of the red, white and blue placement of your fabric. Love Chris

P.S. I'm making a baby quilt for my niece who is expecting a girl in late April - it's 35C outside and the house is still not cool, the air conditioner is struggling! I think it's our last taste of a summer, as we began Autumn on the 1st March.

Thank you Chris for always being so supportive of my quilting. I will look forward to seeing your niece’s baby quilt to see what pattern you chose.

Our AC/heating unit went out last year . I think it was overworked because of extreme temperatures we had. I know how you don’t like the heat,😁
