I was thinking about getting a lamp to light up the stitching area of my machine. It attaches to the sewing machine with a magnet. Does anyone know if the magnet would disrupt the cumputer in the machine?

I have a small led lamp with magnet. I have put it on a metallbox.

I was asked by a fellow cutie if I could possibly post a picture of the light on my machine - this is the LED light strip for sewing machines. Hopefully you can tell from what I have taken the big difference in the.

And while you're shopping for lamps, I highly recommend an OTT light (OTT is the bulb type). It provides a lot of illumination AND sunlight color matching for your threads. Greatest sewing accessory ever! Now, if you select threads at night, you don't wind up with a brown for purple, etc. And, really nice for auditioning a group of threads with each other, to get the very best blue, green, yellow and red together! Lovin' it!

I am not certain, but machines now have magnetic hoops. I have an LED strip light that is put over my sewing area on the machine. It is self- adhesive. I love it on the machine. Only issue was that it was not sticking well, but hubby put a stronger adhesive strip on it. I got it from a friend who ordered them online.

Like Karen I too have a light but a table lamp that is by the machine. I would definitely be asking my dealer should I be considering such a light

That is a very good question to ask. I'm not sure of the correct answer so I hope someone will come along with the right answer. You could also call your local dealer and ask. It is more expensive, but I bought a floor lamp with a light and magnifier that is on wheels that I can move to give more light to my sewing area.
