Hello Cuties, long time no see. Of course like most of you I’ve been busy with family. I wanted to show you I made some shams, my first time making shams, to go with that large quilt I just finished Quilting that I showed you earlier. The shams and the quilt are reversible I ended up enlarging the quilt with the other row, so it’s pretty large. This is on my queen, bed but I have a full-size mattress on top of my queen bed right now. we had to use the full mattress on the floor during the hurricane and we never put it back in storage, just placed it on top the queen bed no one uses since Covid. The quilt top after Quilting ended up being 100 in.

My husband has been pretty sick. He sees a doctor Monday for his colon. They have so much colon cancer in their family that I’m really worried for him so I would appreciate any prayers. He scared me to death the other day.I thought he was having a stroke The doctor seems to think he just passed out.
I hope all of you are well and have a nice Easter, hopefully with some of your family. Blessings on you all. ❤️ Toogie

Ps I also wanted to say the squares are all 2 1/2 inch, all 3,333 of them!!! 😅😂

Beautiful quilt and Shams. Sorry your husband is not well. Sending prayers for you, him and your family. My husband scared me like that a few years ago. Passed out and I took him over to the hospital when he came to. He spent a week there. They did every test possible and only found he had a irregular heartbeat. He still has the odd dizzy spell. So I know just how scared you would have been. Hugs

That’s what happened to him. A few days later I was in another part of the house and he called out my name. When I got to him he was at the doorway of the kitchen and utility room holding onto the door facing. He said he got very dizzy and wasn’t sure if he was going to collapse again. I got him seated but also told him when he gets up to stand a minute before trying to move, maybe he got up too quick.

Oh my. You did it again. The added shams make that a great set. Both sides are looking good.
Of course I will pray for your husband and I want to wish you and your family a great Easter.

Thank you B and Happy Easter to you! Yes I felt the same but would you believe I still have a bunch more squares left-I’m sure they will end up in another smaller quilt

Thanks Laura, I know you know how concerned I have been. Just a couple more days before we consult with this other dr. I say ‘we’ as I hope I can go in to hear what he says and ask questions.

Oh my, is this gorgeous! Kudos to you for managing to complete it. I'm intimidated just by the number of squares you had to cut out. Prayers are going up for your hubby and for you. Please keep us informed how he and you are doing.

Hubby helps me with the cutting and sorting, so it wasn’t too bad. I love piecing and did enjoy the quilting until my shoulder started bothering me. I keep saying I won’t make another one this size, then end up doing it again.😂I guess my interpretation of a quilt is one sized for a bed like grandma used to make. Of course back then they didn’t have these King and Queen beds!
I will let you know as soon as I’m able about hubby, thanks.
