FSL Chicken Doilies. These came from Embroidery Library. They stitched out very smoothly. The tan one actually has deep red thread around the border, it just doesn't show up red! These were fun to make and I used the large spools of thread as they take tons of thread! The white thread looked much nicer than the tan. It was like the Vilene wouldn't wash out on the tan one.

Oh, these are so nice - I can see that they did take a bunch of thread! How will you use them? Wouldn't they look great on a solid color apron!

They would! Maybe on the bib!
I really don't know what I'm going to do with them! Maybe a gift for my SIL who loves chickens!

Gosh, worth all the thread you used to make them! The bottom one looks more life like, while I think the top would be good for kitchen decor.

Sometimes when I do fsl, I have to soak it a lot longer and swish it around vigorously to get all the vilene out. The vilene seems to get trapped in the dense parts and take longer to remove.

I think you are right. I used the extra large spools of thread since it used so much.
I'll try soaking the tan one again! Thanks

They are both beautiful. Have you tried to place the tan one onto a dark background, like the white and red chicken?
Hugs, Lidia

I'll try that. It probably needs the most to soak longer.

My machines have just been cleaned and adjusted, so I was glad there were no glitches. Just ran out of bobbin thread, but that went smoothly. It's fun to leave the room and come back to a stitched design!

My machine is very social. It doesn't like to work alone or for me to leave the room. Like a naughty child it is sure to act up if I do so. LOL
