Hi Jenne, I have just had my Navy blue and white Queen size quilt done by a Quilter and she only charged me $190.00. For a custom made quilt she would have charged me about $250.00 These are Australian dollars of course. My quilter is very reasonable, most charge much more than that! Love Chris
IF you ask about making the actual quilt, each block then sewn together... I'm sure the cost would reflect the work put into each block!!! I would never make quilts for sale... buying ready made are much cheaper!!!
If they just do a programmed not too heavily stitched it's .01 a sq inch. So if your queen is say 90x100 then would be 90x100=9,000x.01=$90. However, if you want it custom quilted, say following your block or echoing, etc it's usually .03 a sq inch making same quilt $270.
Just wanted to add-you asked the price PAID and I gave you the price they CHARGE-lol
If you are retired like me, then these prices are too much for us. Even if it is worth it, we all know when you craft, you never get what it's worth.
Are you asking the price for a finished queen size quilt or the price to quilt a queen size quilt? Too many variables to advise...hand quilted, domestic machine quilted, long arm overall design quilted....hand pieced, machine pieced....heirloom/old quilt...new quilt...etc.....
I am sure that the prizes vary depending on the area. I know that Kreations by Kara charges 1.5 cent per square inch.
