Have any of you had TPI treatment (trigger point injection)? I had one in my neck last Friday and am still sore from it and the knot I had has not gone down....had a migraine so bad yesterday it made me sick.....I am suppose to start dry needling treatment on Friday and am scared to death all this is making my pain worse.....just wanted to know if anyone else has had this experience?

I am so very sorry you are going through all of this. I am sure Chris is right, sitting at your machine cannot do your neck and back any good.
I have never had a migraine and hardly ever had a headache but having friends who suffer from one or the other, I know how bad the pain can get.
I hope all is soon well with you and that the treatment works.
Love and hugs

I am so envious of you, Sarah.....what a wonderful thing to not have to feel head pain. I started having migraines right after my accident and concussion, so something must have gotten tossed around.....have had MRI's and they don't see any reason for it....going to a neurologist next month to see if there is something that can be done...
Much love!

I am keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. Hoping they can find out what is causing this. 😘

My hubby goes for TPI every other month in his back. He is sore for a few days and uses a heating pad on and off to relieve his pain. I feel for you and so sorry you have to go through this. My hubby has been having these TPI since 2000. I would imagine the neck is a killer too. Once the shot takes effect you will feel better. I will pray for you... Suzanne

Hi Suzanne......I am so glad to hear of others that have had these and that there may be relief in sight......I go to the physical therapist tomorrow and he has been instructed to try the dry needling on me.....don't know if he will do it tomorrow or not......don't ya sometimes feel like a guinea pig?

Years ago I suffered with migraines so can sympathize Vicki. Prayers for you. I know nothing about TPI'S so cannot help you there. My youngest had one of those ear piercing thingies put in side her ear in the cartilage and says it has helped her immensely..

Migraines are one of the most misunderstood conditions, but I am hopeful that I get to try that new drug out there that is a once a month injection...I go next month to the neurologist, that is the soonest they could get me in....

Oh! Vicki, I feel for you, I suffer a lot with my neck, but have never had TPI treatment. I like Chris have Cortisone injections when it really gets bad, and avoid doing anything that can trigger off the pain again for awhile. I also say give your digitizing a rest for a little while, as I know when I play with the computer for hours that is when I feel it. Good luck, hope you feel better soon. Hugs Maureen

I know the computer is responsible for some of this....ugh! But I feel better mentally when I am working, so it is so hard to listen to my body........

My daughter had trigger point injections and was miserable for the first few days. Then it began really helping her back spasms and she no longer needed the treatments. I hope your treatment helps you. Try not to worry too much about it; the stress of worrying makes it knot up.

Oh! your poor thing Vicki. I think you should have a really good massage and take things easy for a while. You do so much digitising and sewing etc. and it must play havoc on your spine, which of course runs your body's nerves etc.
I've only ever had Cortisone needles when I had that bad Bursar in my right thigh. I had Acupuncture which helped, but it's not a long term cure. I do pray that something can be done for you Vicki.
Love and healing thoughts and prayers being sent to you over the airwaves! Love Chris

Hi Chris......Yep, had those dastardly cortisone shots, too.... I am feeling better today, so hopefully it will continue in that path......I still have the knot where I got the shot though..it is right at the hairline toward the right side on the back of my neck.........

I am so sorry to hear you are in pain. I might try alternating heat and cold, not too hot and not too cold. I have had injections in my bursis and one of them hurt the entire time it was supposed to help.

I have got them, but because of rheumatism. I do not show against which you them agrees, there is certainly to different ones begins. I have broken off this, drips with strong painkillers have better helped me. Acupuncture had brought nothing. Now helps me Best Faszientherapie. I hope it it is better again, hugs Maria

Try putting some heat on the knot. I used to get injections every months for years and had trouble with knots....heat seemed to help. Of course mine weren't in the neck. Sure hope you are feeling better soon.

My daughter went through it. She still ended up having neck surgery. Her situation may have been quite different from yours. The drs even gave her 5-8 botox injections in her forehead for the migraines. Which she said didn't help and hurt like the dickens and she said she couldn't wait for the poison to be out of her body. Sounded horrifying to me because I was given pills when I had a migraine or if I went to the ER they would give me a shot on my posterior and I would go home, stay in a darkened room and drift off into heavenly bliss. I hope what you are going through isn't near as bad as what she went through. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I can't wait to go to the neurologist as I am going to ask him to try me on that new medication which is a shot once a month.....can't keep going like this, that is for sure!

I can only imagine...I know what my daughter went through...but she had a lot more going on. She's had so many surgeries in the past 4 yrs (and facing another one) and no real family support. I am over 1200 miles from her and she needed someone to understand what she was going through. I hope you at least have family support. Best wishes and hope you feel better soon.
