I should have repotted and cut the stems lower. Well worth trying. I will certainly do this again.

109762Your husband needs to admit you have to be doing something right. Look at your results, a very pretty poinsettia for the holidays. Someone just gave me a bird of paradise in with other plants. Needless to say, I forgot to water before my trip, didn't think to get hubby to water and by the time I returned the bird of paradise had shriveled up. The other plants are surviving though.

DH thinks I am quite mad. It is a joy watching this plant visibly change. So sorry that your bird of paradise has died.

You are too kind Kim. I am usually useless with indoor plants but this has fascinated me. Hopefully it will look good over Christmas
