Well, I know I can't put all the photos up but these are a few high lights, of the trip. Hope you enjoy viewing.-Toogie
I remember taking the Maid of the Myst ride with our church youth group around 1998
In this photo is the Maid of the Mist, but we rode the Hornblower. I was on the walk above when this pic was taken. If I'm not mistaken the Maid boarded on the USA side.
Hi Toogie, I hope you enjoy Tennessee. I live between Nashville and Knoxville....
Right now I can't remember what we did where. We did so much it's all ran together.-lol-I always enjoy Tennessee and will be going there again in a few months, Pigeon Forge area.
My parents went of the Maid of the Myst on their honeymoon. I'm sure it's a different boat now, just the same name. They were married in 1942.
thank you for the lovely pictures, great you are having such a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing
Oh I have so-o many pictures, mostly thanks to others. That's what I have been working on today.
I was heartbroken when I could no longer take photos and that happened our first day in Canada! My IPhone stopped taking photos and I forgot my extra battery and charger for my 'real' camera.
Several passengers have been sending me photos of places we went and things we saw. Thank heavens!
Love your pictures - especially you in the lovely hat!! When I rode on the Maid of the Myst - our older children were in the front of the boat with their Dad and I had our young twin sons - one in each hand, holding on to them for dear life (as they wanted to look over the edge of the boat). I just knew one would fall in (of course, they didn't - lol). You are having a wonderful adventure!! Hugs to you, Laura
You are so right Laura! I will treasure this my lifetime. I took my great niece's photo with a hat on and she wanted to take mine, so there it is!
We toured the Kentucky Derby museum, the racetrack and stables today. We had fun trying on hats. At the museum they have a 360 degree movie screen that we watched a very interesting movie about from the time a horse is born until the time of the big race. Our guide after the movie was very knowledgable about it all and answered any questions asked.
I do hope you sipped a mint julep in that lovely hat you're wearing. Enjoying tagging along on your trip via pics!
Sounds like you have had a wonderful trip so far...beautiful photo of the Falls and the Maid of the Mist...I remember both very well...safe travels on the rest of you journey...Hope your gifts have been well received by all!
They all loved the gifts and we had some new people on. One group was a family of 3 sisters and 2 had husbands. One of the sisters has Alzheimers and the youngest sister was so attentive to her.
One day, while I was waiting for the bus to re-load and for me to count 45 heads, for the upteenth time (lol) I spoke with the youngest one's husband Danny. As we talked, I learned where they were from and casually mentioned my cousin was a retired detective, from that city. Can you believe, his wife worked with my cousin as she was a police officer there! Small world! This lady is in fine shape and once when we saw her run, to check on her sister and BIL, she actually did RUN and she is 75 years young!
That same cousin of mine called me when we got home and I told him I met her. I said I could not believe how well she got around. He said oh yes, she has always been fit. I guess it was due to their training.
So glad you’ve had a great time. Canada is awesome and I wish we could have seen the Niagara Falls. Safe journey home, love Chris
Someone sent me some photos Chris and it was of a canal, like Panama Canal does, raising or lowering the water so ships can go from one body of water to another. Luckily there was a ship approaching just as we arrived, so we got to see how it actually worked. Very interesting.
I'll never forget my ride on the "Maid in the Mist" with Ron either Toogie. Glad you are having such a wonderful time. Today is the day I lost Ron one year ago.
It doesn't seem like it's been a year already, but I'm sure it does to you. You know where he is, so that is comfort to you, I am sure.
I really did have an awesome adventure! I am sure you and Ron were laughing it up!
Thank you Toogie for this exceptional picture. These giant waterfalls are just majestic. It takes me back to when we took the girls to Vic Falls in Zimbabwe many years ago. We were also soaked to the skin. Enjoy the rest of your holiday
Thank you Sarah, we did so much on this trip. I tried to relive it in my mind and almost forgot parts, until I started receiving some pictures. It was an experience I won't soon forget though.
This must have been a wonderful trip, So many things to see. I am glad you enjoyed it. Get home save.
I am safely home Angie and you are right we did so many things. Even though we rode a lot, we were busy when we stopped.
