When I look at your pictures, I can smell Florida. Hmmmmm...
lovely pictures, great you had this wonderful trip. Sorry about the car ....
Every once in a while I need to 'escape' but this trip really left me zonked when I got home. Thank goodness I now have recovered. Glad you like the photos.
Great pictures! Almost as good as being along for the ride with you! Sorry to hear about your car - what a terrible "welcome home".
I know, it sure spoiled my 'happy to be home' mood. I have babied this car, as I kept my old one to run around here in. My daughter joked and said, when I die they are gonna list it 'owned by little old lady, just drove to church on Sundays' and she said they won't be lying.
What a fantastic trip, wet jeans and all. Thank you for sharing with us.
What a wonderful trip you've had. Isn't St. Augustine just the most colorful and inviting looking. It's one of my favorites to visit. I'm sure that you were told that it was founded in 1565 and is the oldest city of European occupied in the U.S. I know that 1565 isn't old to our European sisters, but it's ancient to us. :)
Did you get to go to the Castillo de San Marcos. Lots of history there, too.
I anticipated the result when I read, "I waded into the ocean." My favorite "ocean" memories are of my children on their first trip to the beach and their faces when the sand is pulled out from under their feet when the tide goes out. I can see your shocked face. At least it's a soft fall.
Thanks for sharing with us. Get caught up and get your car repaired. Hugs!
Yes, our guides were very informative about the history of St Augustine. We did visit the fort where the bottom of the walls were 14 feet thick and the tops tapered to a mere 9 feet-lol
I didn't fall in the water, thank goodness, just got hit by a huge wave. Nevertheless, my jeans took 2 days to dry out and I was the first off the bus to run to my shower!
I wish I could get my car fixed. Still waiting on the report....
Beautiful!!! I am so glad you had a good time. When I was a young child my parents took us to St Augustine. It was beautiful. We had so much fun. My Dad was the best when we traveled. I am sorry about your car.

I took an elderly lady with me on the trolley. She wasn't able to walk far and it would have meant a lot of walking to shops and such. When I told her I would check if our time was good so we could do it, she was thrilled. We had an hour and a half tour of the city sights, with a guide to narrate. She thanked me for helping her on and off saying she really enjoyed doing this. Otherwise, she would have had to spend the time at the welcome center/gift shop.
I'm glad you had such good childhood memories. My husband is not a good traveler, so if I want to go long distances, this is my way to go.
I'm sorry about my car too. It's only been a week, but I sure miss it. We had to go to the hospital for Gus's surgery in the truck. It's okay, but I rather the car. I have my old car to run around here, but hubby doesn't like to go far in it. We should get the police report soon and maybe get the ball rolling.
What gorgeous pictures Toogie. I love the last picture of St. Augustine. Actually they are all lovely.
I hope you can get your car fixed sooner rather than later. It's always a nightmare dealing with insurance agencies. Love Chris
I dread it but we should get the police report this week and can start with insurance company, body shop then.
Glad you like the pics.
Toogie, thanks for sharing your latest trip with us all, looks as though you had a terrific time. So glad you are back home safe and sound. Bad luck about the car, hope it is not too costly to fix.
I just hope his insurance pays it all and I don't have to use mine. Also, its a good thing we kept my older car, as we can't drive the one that got hit. My front tire rubs and we just bought new tires.
Glad you like the photos, we did have a great time
Glad you had such a grand time Toogie. I loved St Augustine when I was there.
It is a beautiful city. My friend Martha said that was one trip her husband said he wouldn't mind taking again. They had gone several years ago and really enjoyed it.
You need to come with us on one of these trips, when we are going through your way again. I don't know when that will be.
My niece is organizing a trip to Missouri Star Quilt company and on to Branson but I won't be able to make that one. It will be in October and that is our 50th. It was the only opening for the year 2018 for Jennie Doan, MSQC!
Jenny's shop is on my bucket list Toogie!!!! I use a lot of her patterns, actually I've got something on the cutting table right at this moment!!!! But, it's 9.40pm Thursday evening, so I will post it tomorrow. Love Chris
Beautiful photos. Sorry to hear about your car though. Nice to know you enjoyed your trip and the paddle in the ocean. Hugs
I did enjoy it. It is so good to be with that many, mostly women. I do so enjoy meeting people. My car will be fixed but when is another matter. I have to wait 10 days just for the police report to contact his insurance.
Sounds like a wonderful adventure and good time was had by all!
It was such a good group of people, some old acquaintances, some new. I met this lady, on the bus, that reminded me so much of how my mom looked. After a few days I told her, too. She just gave me a huge hug. When we got home I put a photo I took of her, with one of my mom. I sent it to her by text and she said she could see why I thought so. She said she was happy to have met me and I said I was glad I met her, too.
Beautiful pictures Toogie. So glad you had a wonderful time and made it home safely. Love seeing your pictures.
