I know someone from another crafty site that used to regularly post photos of her children as they were growing up. Many of those same photos were used by someone claiming them as her own children names had been changed and i seem to remember this unscrupulous person also claiming one of them was sick and she was raising money for their care.
I have also had someone claiming watermarked photos of my personal projects as their own and was never able to have them taken down despite having the original photos and proof they were mine.
So yes your photos can end up anywhere
Thanks very much for your reply. Using stolen pictures to use as scams for fundraisers is something I have heard of before. Your other comment isn't good either. Take it as a compliment that you produce excellent work but its sad that in spite of having the original you were unable to have them removed from the site
That's so true Caroline and also at our wedding in Bali, we had people walking past our reception videoing me singing, Steve doing his rendition of Mick Jagger's "I can't get no Satisfaction" and Dana singing her song. People take pictures of anyone these days and can then download them. We have lost control of our privacy, although there are controls to try and stop it - it's a weird world! Love Chris
I can't believe someone would have the cheek to do that at such a private event. I bet it was lovely though
I taught my children that the world is full of people, mostly good. But, we have to be careful, because there are a few bad people. Unfortunately, the internet makes it easier for those without scruples (morality, values) to take advantage.
