Cuties, remember I told you I met this lady when I was on my Maine trip and she had a 10 needle embroidery machine she needed help with? She's the one we had the get together for here too, with more of the women from the trip, remember?

Well, when I went to her house and tried to help her she gave me this embroidered fleur-de-lis and a yard of each fabric. She wanted me to make a bag with it. (for her or me, I'm not sure?) Anyway, I finally got it made today as been busy with our annual family reunion/4th of July.

She had called a week or so ago, wanting to come by on their way somewhere else. We couldn't connect, since that was the day I had a few ladies from church here working on mission clothes.

The design is about 6 inches wide x 9 inches. I am not a fan of animal print, but I really like this bag. It has a back pocket, second photo. It has pockets all around inside. Since it has a magnetic snap and I like to secure my wallet, usually with a zipper pocket inside, I chose to secure it with a snap strap (see 3rd photo) I put empty serger cones, so you could see the large pockets. I also added a loop strap for attaching keys. I just wish I had more fabric to make a matching wallet....(sigh)

I hope she likes it as much as I do and I hope you like it as well. Have a great day Cuties! Toogie

Love the bag, you really do such a nice, clean job. Yes, a gal can never have too many bags, my daughter can attest to that :-) I also always thing of bags and small purses, cosmetic bags. Hugs, Mary

This is a beautiful, classic bag. I like that you used a lighter lining so it makes it easier to find things.

I like lighter too but the pockets are like the black outer fabric. Thanks for looking.

I didn't have to match as she gave the fabric. I am not sure she knew what she, or grand daughter, was going to do with it.And I always think Bags!

It's a great purse and to think it all started with a scrap of fabric, a design and lots of imagination. Nice work

Pearlies granddaughter started the design on a yard of the tan fabric and Pearlie gave me that and a yard of the black, but you're right, started with the animal print. The area where she placed the design was just enough space for me to cut the center panel, so seems it was meant for this pattern. Thanks-Toogie

Thanks Sandra, looks like I have had this pattern since 2009. It is Simplicity 2551, but this is the first time I used it. I didn't think I would like it, because I sure like a zipper top, but I do.

Thank you Shirley. I think she may have intended it for me because she didn't trim it too close and was probably not happy with it. I re-trimmed it as best I could, so now she may like it better, especially since it is now a bag!-lol
