Oh the poor little tot, I do hope it heals well and without further pain.
My GS, same age, jumped off a chair and broke his arm a few weeks ago, his parents heard it snap and my son said hearing it was the worst thing ever, curdled my blood when he told me. I guess, as much as we'd like to, we just can't wrap them in cotton wool, can we?
Sending the Angel of children to watch over your GK's.
huge hugs, M
PS, loved the doctor's reply.
I did too and wondered just how he made his brother break his arm. Hope your little one heals well too.
Well I am a little late here but I hope that little Nora is doing well and her pain has subsided by now and she is on the road to recovery. She sure is a cute little girl. And I love her choice of color for the cast. Just what I would have chosen.
She said purple, before he gave her the color choices. -lol-I do hope Kathie steadily improves and is home soon.
She has made some significant progress this week when she hasn't had to deal with a migraine so our prayers are being heard.
Praise God! Migraines are bad enough on their own. Did she have them before this happened, or just since all this?
No she has suffered with chronic migraines for about 10 years and another one of my daughters has had them for about 20 years. They have been to multiple neurology clinics throughout the country and tried every drug and procedure known without success. They are never headache free, it's just the level of pain that changes.
Wow has she grown since the last pic. That must have been quite the fall. Looks like swimming will have to wait.
Funny you mentioned swimming lessons. She was scheduled this week, but because of the rain was cancelled 2 days, the 3rd day due to start lessons, she fell and broke it the night before.
My then two year son broke his arm. He was so wide open and going all of the time, every time he fell, he used the casted arm to catch himself. It was a mess after 3 weeks. The doctor gave up and took it off. I hope your precious Nora heals that quickly.
I am so sorry to have missed this Toogie! I do hope Nora heals quickly and that she isn't in pain anymore. I love the look on Gus's face it's priceless. Love Chris
Meant to say that Delphi and I have seen every episode of Doc McStuffins, we have the doctor's camper mobile, and all accompanying goodies too!!!! Have since seen Masha and the Bear, but Masha's voice is very irritating so we'll be onto something else soon I'm sure!!!
Gus is a cutie pie! He wrinkles his nose when he give you a smile and he's always smiling!
I haven't seen Marsha and the Bear, but its a wonder!
Gus looks like a little pistol. Kiss him for me.
He is young to know how to fake a cry and he can win you over with that smile.
Praying for speedy recovery. Kids tend to heal fast and are resilient, taking everything in stride. My youngest daughter had both feet in casts when she was younger. Didn't bother her a bit. She acted like they did not exist. I think it bothered the Doctor though, because they had to be changed so often. They were walking casts, but somehow she managed to break the bottoms. She is/was such a tomboy. Love the purple.
What a beautiful cast - for a beautiful little girl - and brave too.
Nora looks beautiful in purple, even if it is a cast. Something tells me that this is going to be a story told for many a year to come. Spoil her when you can catch her.
Her Oma brought Nora her dads book when he broke his leg. He was younger than her and he has a scrapbook Oma journal-ed it and filled with all the cards people sent. Nora spent time looking through it.
Bless her heart! But I'm sure Doc McStuffin will feel better! (Yes, I have a 3 yr old grand & I know all about Doc McS!)
special picture for Nora, hope she recovers soon. Hugs for her and you )))
Nora will appreciate her card, with the purple cast too! I just went a bought her a get well card. It has a dog with a bandaged forearm, all I could find, but it looks like their dog Cy, short for Cyan. She looks forward to all the animated pics 'that lady on the computer' puts up. That's what she calls you-lol
how sweet how she calls me, love it.
Hope she likes this card and the pain of her arm will get less.
Bye the way I did break my arm, left 2x and right1x. my cast was not purple but very common white....
At first, Nora must not have noticed the purple cast, but when she did, she lit right up! She got tickled and said it was just like hers! She also said thank you.
great she loved it. Hope she is righthanded.... Bye the way, when I was young I never broke something, just my mother's crockery :)
Oh Toogie poor Nora but she does look happy in the picture with Gus
Mom doesn't let it get too bad and usually one does of Motrin holds the pain off, until time for the Tylenol. They were excited with the toy I just got. The horse clip clops sound and actually walks, then stopped and neighs and swishes his tail. Drives Gus wild!-lol
Awww, so sorry...but she looks like she is recovered from the trauma and you gotta love that purple cast!
She loves the cast and her Oma got her some new nail polish that changes colors.
Wishing the very best for your little sweet granddaughter. But with the love surrounding her she will recover quickly, I assume and hope. Good luck and many, many hugs - Maria
Another day in your saga. I look back at the emergencies and wonder how my family survived. But we do. I remember most of mine occurred on Sunday. You have had more than you fair share lately. God knows what we can handle!
Kay, years ago my middle one turned over on her bicycle and had to have stitches in her forehead. Six weeks later, while playing in the barn, her brother fell on my BIL's tractor disc and had to have stitches on his forehead, opposite side than hers, on Christmas day!
Sorry to hear this Toogie. Hope she will be ok. One of mine did the same at that age and believe it or not, it never slowed her down at all.. She ran behind some swingers and one swing hit her on the arm. I was glad it was not her head. At that age they usually heal well and quickly/Lillian
Ashley, Nora's mom, broke hers in first grade. A boy, one of the teachers sons, tripped her and she fell. She healed good too and it didn't stop her either. I did have to take her and get another cast put on. It had to come down almost to the tips of her fingers, to keep her from catching her boots to tug them on!
Poor little thing. I hope she heals well, and quickly. Little ones are so resilient, thank God.
I'm so sorry. But, I know your wonderful attitude. How will you make this special? Put her doll in a sling? I'll be praying for her parents and for you for extra calm, and patience and fearlessness. Also, their finances, as I know they have a lot on them already.
Thank you 'graceandham', means a lot to us. As long as she has 'Blankie' she will be alright-lol-She told her mom she was a big girl, through x-rays and all.
Oh poor baby. Maybe you could make her a cute sling to help her recovery
Aw, prayers for that sweet baby that she is not in pain and that she heals properly.
'jrob', it happened just before bedtime. She had her plastic high heels on. Ashley said she wasn't running, but slipped on the brick flooring and when she fell, she landed on dads shoes. She cried and Ashley iced it down and she went to sleep. This morning woke up crying in pain. Ashley took her in and you know the rest...
