Hello my Cuties!

I started this bag a couple weeks ago and didn't have the ump to finish it. I still didn't feel like working on it, but needed to get it off my sewing table.
I made two slip pockets in the front and back, as you see in the first photo. It's rather a plain bag, except for the piping along the front and back. I free motion quilted the front and back, like I usually do. I am still having trouble with a wrist, so may not be able to free motion quilt many more.
The third photo shows I put an inside pocket, divided into three. Lastly, I did remember to embroider my name, on the back right bottom corner.
I used the Arabesque bag pattern by sewsweetness.com for my front and back size. However, I modified it by making the outer pockets and using a solid piece of fabric, instead of ribbon or strips. I made my strap handles 31 inches and sewed them to tabs I made and inserted in my front and back pockets with piping. Anyway, it is a roomy bag finished, measuring 17 1/2 inches from side seam to side seam at lower bag. The height measures 10 1/2 inch and the bottom is 3 1/2 inch across.
If you like it at all, it is more than I do. My heart just wasn't in this. Thank you for looking and I hope to do more pleasing work in the future.-Toogie

Bag is very nice I just think it is not your personal colour choice. You go more for the striking prints.

You know me, bright and beautiful....fabrics I mean-lol
Blue is my oldest sisters color. We both like pinks and I'm a green girl, too. Middle sis likes anything and every thing red!

link for heleninca and sandralane-This is why I said this bag looks plain. I used the fabric in this link first and it is a much prettier bag.

I wish I did work as good as you feel this is not up to standards. I do not feel this bag is plain at all.

I'm over it. Cuties do have a way of making things look better. I have made a bag with this fabric before and comparing it to the first, it does seem plain. I should have made it like the other but I always want to try something different. I would show you a pic or a link to the first but it won't let me here when I respond to you. Thanks for being so sweet.

Kathy, he seems to be okay. He still thinks it was all brought on by the steroid pack he was given for the gout in his really big toe.
Thanks for the prayers and thinking of us!

The bag is not only beautiful, but with all those pockets it's practical. I love blues and your mixture of print and solid is very eye-catching. Your work always looks "loved" even though you may not feel it is. I hope you heal and continue with what you enjoy. Blessings, Avis

Thank you Avis, Cuties have a way of saying the right thing. I am over it. I just had so much figuring with a head not 'into' it.-lol

This is terrific - even, if you yourself hesitated to work on it. Your work is always so sophisticated - looking like it is your profession to sew. Thanks for sharing and encouraging us. Have a nice day - Maria
At the moment it is so hot and after thunderstorm so humid in my part of Germany. I simply cannot work, but try to do paperwork which is sooo necessary :-( tax and things

The older I get the less I like paperwork/sending bills...but hubby wouldn't know how to write a check!
Maria, you wouldn't think I was very professional, if you had been a fly on the wall, when I sewed on it. My first mistake was quilting it to TWO layers of fleece. Now why did I do that? The fabric was already thick. As I added the front pocket with piping, the tabs, etc it just kept getting thicker and thicker. I didn't know if my machine would be able to sew the sides together. I broke about 3 needles!(ugh!!) Now you know why I didn't want to work on it.

Toogie, I do know what you mean by not being into the bag. I think we have all started things that just didn't turn out the way we wanted. But it is a beautiful bag! Job well done! Hugs.

Thank you. I just kept sewing, thinking if it was too thick to sew, I wouldn't mind one bit chunking it in the garbage!
Thank you for your kind words.

Marian, we both are back on track. He's so glad I'm not hovering over him and I am too-lol- He got the saw out and cut me 2 bottoms for this bag and another I made today. He wants to mow tomorrow. I wasn't letting him do anything until he was ok. Now that he is, he's ready to go!-lol-

Oh you know how to get to me...send me flowers!-lol
I thought I had my ump back, but when I saw Kim's post, it somehow reminded me I forgot my 'Toogie' on my bag I made today. I really like it, but I like green.

hi Toogie, it sure it difficult to concentrate when you feel stressed or sad. However, your bag is lovely and I wish you were close enough to have some classes for the rest of us. Perhaps a YouTube video would be good. Do hope you soon feel better.

I'm ok, thank you. I think I just needed to get over, through with, this bag. I suppose I will always dislike it, as I made it during some troublesome time.
It would be nice to live close and I am sure I could learn a lot from you.

Toogie, you have done a grand job on this bag, it is not plain . It is a lovely print and well made. You have been pre occupied lately, with a lot of stress, you will come back to doing what you love. Take time out to spend with your dear husband, both of you look after your selves first. Sandra.

Sandra, he's so glad to get a good report, I can't hold him down. Not that I want to. While we were 'testing' I was afraid for him to strain or get too hot or.... He feels good now he says. Before, he felt like I have been the Warden and he's been paroled!!!
