It has been a crazy few days here and on top of it all, my nephew managed to break both bones in his forearm. He was sent home with a triangular muslin sling and told he will need to have his arm in it for up to 2 months. His poor mum, who does not sew, wanted to make him some trendy slings the same but could not figure how to deal with the bulk of fabric tied at his neck. she had bought fabric that was much thicker than the gauze sling he already had so it was bulky and uncomfortable. She came over and still wanted to make them herself so we worked together while I walked her through the steps to make an adjustable sling and matching strap covers. They are plain on the inside and reversible. It took all afternoon to make just 2 slings but the look on my nephews face when he put them on was priceless.

That's awesome! Customized slings for the tween. Very creative design.

This will prolong the healing as he will be so proud to wear his sling...A very forward bit of thinking on his Mum's part....Ann

I think you could have a market here, great style sling. He will be the envy of all young ones wearing slings. Great job. Sandra.

How thoughtful. He appears to be at the age where kids are self conscious about everything. Bet he's showing off these wonderful slings! Great job!

Kudos to you and his mom for making these months more bearable. I bet he will be the hit of his class now. Better gear up. Others will be asking for their own if anyone else breaks their arm.

I had a message this morning that he went to class this morning to say hi to the kids and was proudly wearing one of his new slings.

Let's hope none of them decide to break their arms just to get one!

I was thinking the same ..

What a great idea.
Not only will he be more comfortable but it will be washable.
Hope he didn't break his arm playing football so early in the season.

Yes it had to be washable as boys will be boys. Poor thing broke it doing cross country running. He somehow tripped and his arm broke as he tried to break his fall.

Thank you. We cut out so many that any spares will be donated to the hospital and the school.
