I'm almost finished with my sewing room, I got my new small baker's rack today. will pick up some wire shelving tomorrow along with some plastic boxes the kind on rollers then the room will be filled ,once I pack these containers full.
I too can relate to this and am slowly getting my room together with slowly being the word.
I disagree. Put everything in smallish labelled boxes so you can quickly find it all. I gave each started project (fabric, zippers, instructions, etc.) a box till I finish it. AND I am getting them finished because I want those boxes gone! Put fabric only in boxes that you are easily able to lift! It is heavy! I found I had lots of types of fabric: purchased for quilts; marine vinyl; lace and eyelet; fancies for applique Santas; batiks; solids; florals; fine wale corduroy; pet fabrics (prints); fabrics for heirloom dresses; etc.! A box for zippy bag handles and another for zippy bag zippers! Buttons - I'm still organizing.
Don't get rid of anything , you hiding places all over the house. USE them.!
Don't make it too tidy you will never find anything.
Just finished going through my craft room also. Overwhelming project and it took so much time but glad to have done it. Found things I will never, never use and things I was so glad I had. Have also been sharing what I have too much of with other crafters. Unfortunately, the room just cannot look uncluttered but it is organized and know what's there and where it is.
Yes, I know what u mean, today I will go to Lowe's to get my last wire shelf maybe get it up later this afternoon along with some clear plastic boxes.
