I am doing a heavy design on knit shirts, what stabilizer you think works best?

If you call it heavy, I'd go with doubling mesh cut away hooped along with the shirt. I also throw underneath that a piece of tear away when it's really heavy or the letters are dense.

I use no show mesh cut-away - if very dense I use two pieces - a bit at angles from one another.

I use a cutaway and find that works well. Good luck!
