oh how wonderful, a great grandbaby.... praying he will do well and be able to go home soon...
Oh Toogie, He is such a beautiful little guy. I am praying for him to gain strength and grow! Hugs, Jan
Toogie, We just got our internet back after Hurricane Matthew yesterday and I'm spending some time this morning catching up with my Cute friends. I read through this post and as I did, the news was better and better. I was happy to see your g-g-son Rylan and his mom and dad are well now after his early arrival. He is a sweetie pie! God is good! --Sharon
Toogie thanks for the updates and hope all is well today
UPDATES BELOW-
Prayer of comfort for the family and love his little heart charm in his picture. You can see the joy in his mommy's eyes as she is finally able to hold her little one. Due to the weak lungs of most preemie babies, be sure that any who visit wear masks so that nothing may cause him unnecessary exposure to colds and such. Little Rylan is far too precious to take chances if his lungs are still of concern. Won't be long and we will be seeing him well outfitted in the baby gear you have been creating just for him. Continued prayers. Pam
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Caleb, Taylor and baby Rylan. Love & Hugs. Shirley
Toogie thinking of all of you but especially Rylan
I'm praying very diligently for you all, especially that beautiful little boy.
UPDATE This from Caleb-RYLAN NEEDED MORE OXYGEN SO HE IS ON A VENTILATOR AT 100% OXYGEN. THEY GAVE HIM SOME SURFACTANT TO PUT IN HIS LINGS TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP BUT IT DIDNT SO THEY ARE DOING AN ULTRASOUND ON HIS HEART TO CHECK FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENTION. IF HE HAS PULMONARY HYPERTENSION, THEY WILL GIVE HIM A MED IN GAS FORM. THEY ARE ALSO TRYING TO PUT AN IV INTO HIS UMBILICAL CORD TO BE ABLE TO GIVE HIM STUFF EASIER AND TAKE BLOOD EASIER WITHOUT HAVING TO KEEP POKING HIM. NOW WE ARE JUST WAITING FOR RESULTS.
Prayers being said for all of you. It's always darkest before the dawn. Keep faith. The sun will shine soon.
SUNDAY NIGHT- Still on vent, but reduced oxygen to 75%. Doctor didn't give results of heart ultrasound, although they know. Nurse said that was usually a good sign, that nothing was wrong/urgent or they would have heard by now. I guess they go by, 'no news is good news' but it is stressful 'not knowing'. Caleb sent family the text this morning and asked not to call to talk to him, as they were crying and too upset.
My heart breaks for my family. We went through this roller coaster 11 years ago, with Isabella and Avery. It brings back too many memories, for all of us.
My oldest daughter and I should leave Friday for our trip. I don't feel like going. I don't want to be here either, though. I need strength to face anything about Rylan..My husband says go. I could always fly home if I had to. He says if we don't go Marsha will lose what she paid, over $1,000 as she mainly was going to be with me...I am torn. I never said anything before, but since Avery coded and had to be heli-ported to the hospital, a few years ago, I have anxiety attacks, in highly stressful situations. I know that is why my husband wanted to distance me from this situation.
I also know, you Cuties are my friends and I can tell you all this. I admit I really need prayer too (does that seem selfish?) because I need strength for whatever God's plan is. Most of all, it took me a long time 11 years ago, to submit and pray God's will be done. After all, what if His will, was different than mine, as a grandmother? I blame myself for Isabella living/suffering twice as long as she should have. The doctors said the most a baby lived, without kidney function was 9 days. She lived 19 days! When I finally submitted to pray 'God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven', her life/suffering ended. If I wouldn't have taking so long to accept His will, I could have saved her so much suffering.
I do hope I have not upset anyone here or brought back memories you'd rather forget. If I have, I sincerely apologize.
Thank you for prayers already prayed and prayers you will continue to pray, for little Rylan and our family. In Christian love-Toogie
WED THE 12TH-Rylan looks good & is doing better today. He was given some of mom's milk yesterday so they are increasing the amount today. He is sucking his fingers and trying to get his fist, in his mouth.-lol-Dr will repeat the heart ultrasound today to see if the spot is still on the heart or it was nothing. Everyone's spirits are raised!
THURSDAY the 13th-Rylan is a week old today! It has been a traumatic and stressful week for him, poor baby, and all of us. He is now on the nasal cannula and improving daily. I am so thankful to my God! Mom got to hold him for the first time, photos above.
Toogie my prayers are with you all glad to hear he is doing better keep us updated
FRIDAY-the 14th-Today Rylan is breathing on his own. Daddy got to hold him. They have increased his intake of moms milk again. The heart ultrasound still shows a spot on his heart and we are waiting for the results of exactly what it is. Thank God, first of all, and all of you for answered prayer. Please continue to pray for him & parents. I appreciate all your words of support, although haven't answered each one individually, please know I read them all and I thank you. X&O's Toogie
Toogie praying he continues improving each day and the spot on his heart is nothing to worry about xxx
Hallelujah! What an awesome God I(we) pray to. I knew he would not let us down. Thank you so much Toogie, for the updates. There still may be difficult times ahead, but our prayers continue. I'm saying a special prayer for you that your pain of heart will be taken away. It may have been that Isabella couldn't let go because she knew how much she was loved. No, you are not being selfish in asking for prayer for yourself. We all need strength from our Heavenly Father. Even Jesus prayed for that strength. Sending much love to all. - Marjorie
Oh Toogie he is wonderful and full of God' Grace. I pray he will be fine. Babies are born even earlier than that and do great after a little hiccup in the beginning. Congratulations/Lillian
Oh Toogie - I send prayers for little Rylan - he is such a sweetheart, so beautiful (or should I say handsome). This precious little fellow will be well taken care of. Prayers for you and your family too - please let us know how he is doing!! Love and hugs, Laura*
Congratulations to everyone and prayers for Rylan.
I hope this will comfort you, I have two young friends who each had a baby this year, a girl and a boy respectively, both born 5 weeks early, one of them was under 5lb and so very tiny.
They are now both five months old and both thriving.
I will pray for Rylan to thrive too and show you all what a little trouper he is and sending an Angel to watch over him.
Hugs and much love, Meg
