I think it is absolute excellent stunning and so beautiful .Have been a nice day.
Chris these are gorgeous! What a lovely job you have done!
it looks very pretty Chris, well worth all the trouble & time to create this ~hugs~
Wonderful, dear Chris! The result is really worth all the trouble you had. However, wishing you much less trouble for future projects of that kind. Thanks for sharing - Maria
and forgot to say thank you for your family details. It is so lovely to follow up our cuties in the different countries and how all are living. From the distance I thought Australia was small but in fact all of our Europe fits in. I am glad already three of my children had visited your home country - one spending a half year touring around with his girl friend. Thanks once more for telling us and wishing you much fun with the family and travels
Thanks Maria, yes, I hope the next ones will be less traumatic. Kim (dragonflyer) has helped me tremendously and I will be doing some more next week when we get back from Canberra. Thanks for your kinds words too about our family. And YES, Australia is huge! Love Chris
Spot on job of lining up the design and joining the 2 halves.
Like the classic style of these squares.
Will be watching to see what else you come up with.
Hope the weather holds out for your road trip.
Thanks Barbara, it promises to rain here this week but Canberra will be cold and crisp! Luv Chris is
Chris these look fabulous now,the first one you lined up perfectly The second designs is also as intricate, it will certainly be a quilt to treasure, An enormous amount of work but it will be so STUNNING. Did you manage to get more of the same material from Spotlight ?. Enjoy your mini break in Canberra, safe trip. Sandra.
I got another piece of navy and white pin-spot and a navy and white stripe. The newer piece is not exactly the same as it's a softer cotton. I'll be mixing and matching, so hope it will be alright once all finished. Love Chris
Just brilliant. I personally think you have done a great job. Most impressive
Very impressive Chris and it looks like you have set yourself quite a task with this project
These look gorgeous.....loving the fabric, too.......
You really lined that polkadot fabric up nicely. You can't even tell it is two pieces. I like the second design too. I don't know how to do two hoopings and really would like to learn. Love these designs!
Thanks 'Penny' - I don't know how to do double hooping either. Kim says I will be able to do it with my little snowmen stickers. I'll have to go find them. Love Chris
The are both beautiful. You lined up the second perfectly. I am also interested in knowing if she has alignment stitches in her designs. It does make it easier.
Thanks so much, but this second one is only one design in one hoop. It took longer than the long one! Love Chris
Absolutely gorgeous. Looks like you've managed to line it up perfectly. I have not tried to do this yet and I do have the snowman stickers and camera. Don't know how to add in software though as Dragonflyer says. I don't play with my machines like I used to. Your quilt is going to be beautiful.
Mary, you should definitely learn how to use the camera and scanner...and if you have those, you don't really need alignment stitches added to a design...with the snowman sticker, you can even hoop crooked and wonky and have the design stitch perfectly..
Yes, it does come with the Brother Quattro series. I'm not sure how much they are in Canada Carolyn, but here in Australia it cost me nearly $9000.00 Australian dollars. Love Chris (P.S. this was my 60th birthday present to myself from some of my Superannuation money!!)
Hi Patty, thanks for commenting, but this was one piece all done in one hooping. Love Chris
Very nice, Chris...did Dalene include alignment stitches for these blocks? Also, what is the model of your Brother machine...If it does have a camera and scanner, I would be more than happy to help you learn how to use it...it is fabulous for matching hoopings...if you have the little "snowman" placement stickers, you do have a camera and scanner...If Dalene did not put alignment stitches for multiple hoopings, they can be easily added in digitizing software also...I do a lot of matching multiple hoop embroidery...Is the second photo just the one corner block or the whole block? Don't see a seam in the photo, so if it is the full block, you did an great job on the second hooping! Can't tell the size by the photo...
Hi Kim, no I didn't see any alignment stitches, but there could be. I do have the camera and the little snowmen, but you are right I don't know how to use it. Yes, the second picture is ONE BLOCK. That was easy as it was just the one piece and the size is - 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. The big one is 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, so double that makes the big block 10 3/4" x 9 1/2" .
My Brother is the Quattro 2 Innov-is 6700D. It has all the bells and whistles so to speak. Thanks for offering to help, it would be great. Love Chris
Hi Chris...e-mail me and I will be glad to help you learn how to multi-hoop with your camera and scanner...with and without the Snowman stickers...it's easy peasy! If there were alignment stitches you would notice them...they would stitch off at the top/bottom...like an "X" and it would stitch again on the second half..the first color stop...you would match the "X's" from the first hooping to the "X's" in the second hooping and you would know you were hooped correctly...camera/scanner and Snowman are much easier!
They are little stickers that look like a little snowman Carolyn. They come in a pack of so many per page. I've never used them in the 4 years I've had the machine!!!!!! Love Chris
So is the second one done Kims way??/I love them hugs
Chris this is beautiful. I am wanting to make a new quilt for the motorhome and l love blue I think I will pinch your idea and do it with spotty material,
You did an excellent job sewing the pieces together, This is going to be a gorgeous quilt.
