I'm planning a quilt using an ITH block so this is what I've been doodling today. I'm posting it in sewing because it doesn't matter what sort of block it is. The first picture is the basic block which I have made (it will be a pot holder - waste not want not!) I cropped the picture down neatly and copied it lots of times onto a Publisher document. I then moved them around to try different arrangements, using the snipping tool to capture a picture when I had something I liked. So, now I have 3 possibilities. (The last one was the one in my head when I began!)

Nice block to start with and I think your original idea is the one that looks the most interesting. You have your work cut out! Can' wait to see the finished article.

Thanks for your copy and paste in Publisher idea, very useful if you don't have a quilt program- and so much faster than printing them or use pencil and paper.

This is going to be very interesting Sue, I do like the 4th picture. But they would ALL look great. Can't wait to see what you finally come up with. What ever will be stunning I am sure. Sandra.

Unfortunately these are the end of a jelly roll and the one I am planning to use isn't as warm looking.

Super idea. I like #4. It's fun to take a simple block and make it appear complicated when put together in a quilt.

Very nice..the second block looks like Attic Windows pattern...the third one looks similar to a Log Cabin...and the fourth looks like a Square in a Square on point....

Clever isn't it as they are all the same block!
