Hi Cuties,

I've been making this cover for my Husqvarna Sewing Machine for the past week or so. I could only stand to do the sewing. I finished it today. At least it covers the embroidery arm and will protect the machine from dust as it's always out. I cut 4 and a half inch blocks and sewed them into strips. I have sewn it onto pre-quilted fabric which is underneath the blue patchwork pieces. It's nice and sturdy. Now to make one for the Brother Quattro!!!! I think that might take a bit longer.

I had 3 CT scans today and then a Cortisone needle in my spine. The Doctor said it will take a few days to kick in. I sure hope so! I have been taking Tramado which is a slow release pain reliever, twice a day. Doctor said I can also take Nurofen, which I've been doing. The worst time is early morning hours when the pain wakes me up. It's been weeks now, even taking pain killers. So, I'm hoping this Cortisone is going to help me.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far, love Chris

1. Cover for the Husqvarna
2. The two machines side by side (you can see that the Brother machine is much longer with the embroidery arm on)

Wow Chris, that is a beautiful cover.
Sure hope your shots help.
That's the only thing that helped me.
It was a combination of shots they used.
God Bless

Thanks Theresa, yes, I'm hoping that this one will work. The one I had a couple of weeks ago in the bursa near the Gluteus minimus didn't work. If the Cortisone doesn't work I'll be back at the doc's quick smart for something else. Love Chris

Chris, sorry to read you are still in pain, hopefully after your injection takes hold you will be okay, and pain free. Your cover is terrific, love the colours, however you must rest and take care of yourself. Thinking of you. Sandra. .

Thanks Sandra, just been watching television all day with the quilt in the loungeroom. I've posted it in Projects. Thanks for thinking of me, I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers I can get. Love Chris

Your cover is quite lovely. I love your colors and that should be just the thing to protect your machine.
I made one for my machine, but didn't include the arm and I'm realizing that was a mistake. I used the last bits of fabric from my window dressing, so I'll now have to find something else that is suitable.

I have some fabric I have bought to make covers for 2 of my machines. So far it is hanging over 1 of them to see if I really like it. Yes I do, so now to find some time to sit and make them. Sorry to hear you are still in pain. Sure hope you are feeling better soon. Hugs Shirley

Hi Shirley, the worst part was getting it to cover the arm. I just laid it over the top and sort of guessed and pinned it etc. I hope yours turn out well. I hope I'm feeling better soon too. Love Chris

That is lovely the colours look so classy. I have some pre quilted Calico that would work for this idea. I am like everyone else have table cloths as covers and a sheet as a cover on my cutting table. Looks like I just threw them there straight off the line.
Hope your back gets better soon. I have had great success with the Cortisone injections almost instant relief on a frozen shoulder hope it works for you.

Wow, lucky you Barbara. I'm still in pain, but I only had needle yesterday and the doc said it will take a few days to give some relief. I hope so, I'm so over it. Love Chris

This sure beats the hand towel I throw over the embroidery unit. I put the Baby Lock cover over top but have an embroidered hand towel for the unit. I sure like your idea much better. Also my Husqvarna, Kenmore and Husqvarna Serger always out and just have towels over them. I could be more creative like you--if ever energy kicks in.

Thanks Patty, it was just something for me to do whilst I'm incapacitated! Trev is collecting the quilt I did for our 8th grand-child and all I have to do is put the binding on. I can stand at the machine to do this too. I thank you for commenting, love Chris

Some of our Cuties must have left their watering cans outside, in the cold. Their buckets must have 'Frozen' water, as I see more and more, are forgetting to water the flowers!-lol

Love the navy and white, Chris, with all the blocks perfectly aligned.
I am sorry this painful time, in your life, is lasting so long. Seems like you've tried everything, I know you must feel frustrated,at times. I am glad you have times you are able to get to your machines, without them you would go nuts like me-lol
Really hoping this painful time will soon be over for you. You're too active to be shut down like this. In Christian love-Toogie

Thanks Toogie, I'm sorry it's taking so long as well. I had to stand at the machine to do this!! Wasn't easy, but, I like you and a few others on here would go nuts without doing some sewing, Thanks for your kind thoughts, love Chris

Feel Better! Excellent cover for your machine. I need to make 2 or 3. I tend to use table cloths to cover my machines, I had to move one to my back room/porch for temporary storage. Gotta get Christie's room ready! Yeah!

I wish I could say I was feeling better. Doc said the needle will take a couple of days to work through my body. I just want it to go away. I see the Neurosurgeon on the 3rd February - 3 weeks away. Love Chris

Thanks Marian, I hope so too! The biggest hoop on this machine is only 8x12 inches. It has about 50 inches of work space. Love Chris

Hi Laura, thanks and I can tell you I've not been doing much at all. I really feel for those of us who have chronic back pain. I've been coping by taking lots of painkillers and trying to rest as much as possible. Hence, I've only done this machine cover. My quilter lady rang me today to say that Cohen's Woodland Critters quilt is ready to collect. Trevor will get it for me tomorrow. All I have to do then is put binding on it. Love Chris
