Now that Christmas is over, gone are the Santa's, snowflakes and reindeer etc, etc, what will you be making as your first project or are you taking a much needed break? I've been looking through my designs and also looking at new ones to purchase but haven't decided on what exactly to make. Still thinking

I'm way behind on unzipping and organizing. That will be my first "real" project before starting new embroidery/sewing projects.

I have four shirts to make for my cousin in the UK. Apart from that I hope to do a few things for myself.

The great sale (16 for 16) at EmbLib inspires me to get some new designs for Valentines Day and Easter. And perhaps some new large letters for flags. Designs are like books and grandchildren....you can never have too many! lol

I have 2 unfinished baby quilts that I am going to work on before I start anything new. I have another great grandbaby due this month so that is my #1 priority right now.

I got my a project from my Sister on Boxing Day. She wants some new Christmas place mats done so thought she would get in early. LOL. I have some premade placemats so will use them & while going through my stash I found that I already had 4 embroidered lucky I had more to match them.

Burrito pillow cases. I have gotten hooked on them & made 18 for Christmas gifts. Each one is embroidered before stitching. They are easy to make & the recipients seemed to like them.
Also, trying to learn my digitizing program.

We have several birthdays and a wedding coming up in the next few months, so I'll get busy with those projects first this month. Along with some home repairs/updates/painting, I would also love to get a couple of my own UFO's completed this year.

After I have created something for my Godsons first child that is due very soon I hope that my sewing room will be sorted and set up. No proper sewing room for over a year and everything in boxes is trying my patience somewhat. Then to keep getting on with the rest of the house

I think this is part of what gives us purpose, and keeps us going - having "due by" dates and doing things for others. You certainly keep yourself busy providing items for many charities, as well as your family. That is such a fulfilling worthwhile thing to do. Keep up these good works! Can't wait to see photos of all your beautiful items.

I can only stay out of the sewing room for a short time before I start feeling withdrawal pangs! I always take January as my "finish up some UFOs" month. And of course throw in a few things for others. My girls got 3 days off and yesterday were up and running again. Hugs. Nan W

Took a needed break Yesterday went to the movie Star Wars, went to Jo-ann's, brought more polar fleece and 75% of christmas stuff. Today took 2 naps, finished 2 quilts for church and did a tied polar fleece blanket for my D's friends GG. Tomorrow is another day.LOL!

I'm still trying to get the top sheet of a new set embroidered. I hate looking for the head of each piece. Darn, this ankle is slowing me down.

Today I made crazy patchwork cover for my magnifying lamp (no machine embroidery). I got out all my smallest pieces of materials from previous projects - even the wadding was a leftover - so I think this must also meet Spendloves pre Christmas challenge to up cycle!

Great idea. I need to use what I have instead of buying more.

Hi Bev, I think I'll be taking a break for a while. I can't even sit at the sewing machine for more than 5 minutes at the moment. I have to get better before the wedding in about 94 days. Love Chris
