Makes my heart flutter! When Grandma died, my Dad took her Singer and all to the dump. I was crushed he didn't ask if I wanted it. Since I had a "newer" Singer, he thought I wouldn't have wanted the old one. What glorious memories I have of Grandma teaching me on hers. Sigh

I have a lot of the same stuff. I have the Singer I learned to sew on-my Mom's-and really need to find someone close to take her to and see if I can use her. Don't see why not, a lot of older ones keep going. She was made in Elizabeth NJ, April1, 1941. A model 66. Just goes forward and back, but my sisters and I put a lot of on her. This is what I sewed my wedding dress with! And there's a knee thing you use instead of a pedal. I remember that fondly, at least it didn't skitter away from your foot.

You can make a necklace using the small spools. I made on just added a pretty ribbon and wear it to quilt shows or gild meetings.Be sure to add a clear glue to edge of thread to prevent them straying.

Gosh my spelling was bad!! Made one! Wear to guild meeting and I add fray check on ends of thread to prevent unraveling. You can make it any length. add buttons also . They'll be an attention getter.

Whatever you do DO NOT throw out the singer box. I have a Singer 221 and the empty box alone can sell for $35.00.

I just love old spools of thread. I do not see any C & C old formula, which I collect when I can.

Here is a picture of one made - I have had this pattern a long time so do not know if it is still available or not and do not know where it came from. I think it is so cute and maybe one day I will be able to ale it!
Just thought you would like to see a picture - his little tail is the end of the measuring tape that will pull out for use.

What a find! I have a very cute pincushion/ measuring tape holder sewing pattern that is the cutest little sheep but it takes two wooden thread spools for his "feet" and I have never made it because I couldn't find the wooden spools. So that would be one use for those. Probably many other cute projects too!

the threads are lovely, and you will find most of them in top condition as they were made when things were made 'properly'.
