I have a very sad story to tell you & by sad I really mean pathetic. Thursday night we had a barometric change which for me means pain. It was particularly bad & I tossed & turned through out the night. I woke up yesterday with an extremely sore shoulder. It only got worse as the day progressed. By the time I was ready for bed it was pretty bad & I slept very little. Since my husband was @ work I waited as long as I could to call my daughter. 6am this morning she took to me to the emergency dept I could no longer handle the pain. It turns out that during my restless night on Thursday I tore my rotator cuff . The Dr. told me this morning that it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months or longer to heal.I must start Physio as soon as possible so I guess Monday if I can get in & more drugs for the pain sigh...........

Right before Christmas the busiest time of the year & I don't even have a cool story to tell as to the why I have a torn rotator cuff & on my right side too (right handed) This next little while will be another challenging time in my life so if you wouldn't mind adding me once again to your prayer list I would really appreciate this

I am so sorry to hear of your in jury. A torn rotator cuff can painful. The PT will hurt but it is only for a short time. My advise to take the pain pill 20 minutes before you go in for PT. Good luck

Dear Loralye, I'm so sorry to read that you've experienced so much pain with your Rotator Cuff injury. I do hope that you can heal it by therapy. My Dad had surgery on both of his and had to do Physical Therapy for a long time. I'm hoping that you can get through this without surgery. Prayers for healing and to ease the pain being sent your way. Love Chris

I knew I was restless but I had no idea it would result in this? SO Strange..........I will do as I am told & baby it & do the Physio as often as they tell me to. ~hugs~

Hi, so sorry about your shoulder! Just wanted you to know I empathized greatly with you. A few years back, I thought I had a torn rotator cuff, but after MRI, it did not show it. The Dr. said I had a frozen shoulder and it was quite an ordeal to get the shoulder/arm back to functioning. I could not lift my arm high enough to fix my hair or unzip a zipper behind me. It did take a couple of months of exercises with a rope pulley with handles on each end, so I could use the good arm to stretch the bad one. Hubby made the pulley for me, so I did not have to travel each day to rehab. A shot of steroids right to the joint helped a lot, but I attribute shower water as warm as I could stand it right on the shoulder, arm uplifted as high as I could get it against the shower wall, gently leaning my weight against it, worked the best. Lengthy and uncomfortable process, but thankful it hasn't bothered me since. That was an awful ordeal!! Praying for quick healing for you!!
Hugs, Angel

I know your pain but not possibly from torn rotator cuff. Been having pain a long time--arthritis in left shoulder--a pain started in my left wing bone--Dr. just said well, nothing broke--on muscle relaxer-no help-been on pain meds for arthritis for years. 2 yrs ago Dr. suggested cortisone shot but I've only heard negative things on that. Finally a couple weeks ago went to orthopedic and a shot in shoulder given. Relief right now for that part of shoulder but not the gnawing aching in back wing bone. My son in law is PT and gave me some exercise. My sis had the separated rotator cuff surgery and she did really well. My prayers are with you as sisters in pain. Hope you recover and can get back to all your beautiful projects.

Bummer. I can't imagine the panic you feel. Try to calm it down though because if you keep using it, you may wind up with it permanently frozen. When you want to run over your list of to-do's, tell yourself that it's O.K. that they don't get done this year. You can start next year when you heal be far ahead of everyone! My prayers are with you.

Thank you Jerrilyn & yes The Dr. did say not to over do it because I could end up with my shoulder permanently frozen which is where the phrase "cold Shoulder" comes from. ~hugs~

Loralye, so sorry to hear this. I tore my left rotor cuff 15 yrs ago just reaching for the Esc key on the keyboard, while at work. Had to have surgery, plus physio for 3 months. I had the same and on my right too. Gave in and wore a cute hat as I couldn't style my hair, less makeup if at all, pullup pants were in order along with slip in shoes. Learned to use a left mouse for the computer, but it unfortunately got tossed across the room a couple of times out of frustration. After the initial frustration things did get a little better. Looking for the poisitive here, maybe the message is to downsize Christmas fussings and let others help you.
