Welcome to our neighborhood! It's a great place to check in every day. If you read the entries for awhile, you'll learn a lot about stitching out, layouts, stabilizers, ticky little machine problems, other great sites.

Create a file to put your designs into. Make a separate file for the FSL designs, download your designs into that file. Open your PED basic, then open the files to view them (the little icon on the upper left). Sometimes the program will stop working when you click on a picture, but just reopen the program. When you want to move files to put on the floppy for your machine, click on them, hit the arrow to move them to the right side, when you have all you want, burn them onto the disc. Embroidery to your hearts content! Hope I helped! Hugs, Tammy

Thank you so much for that info. I followed that and did great. Next thing I ran into is I have some files that are PES and show as Adobe PDF icon (Ithink that is what it is called)on the file. Those are showing as unsupported files or incorrectly decoded. I think most of these files are from places that have a daily free design. Any idea what I need to do to have access to them? Thank you so much!

The adobe opens on its on, as long as you have the program. Its free. The adobe file shows you your thread count, colors, the picture (usually), bobbin thread amount, & more. Keep it with the pes file in your embroidery files. Have fun!!!! Hugs, Tammy

You have come to the right place.
If you have a Windows computer, right click the file and select "Open With" (if that is not an option -- hold the Shift key down while you right click the file)
It will offer some options in a screen. If your software is not listed, then search (using the offered) option for your software. Find your software and select it. At the middle of that screen it should offer a box you can tick. Make sure that it is ticked to have PED Basic open files like that.

Please note that if you have a Thumbnail viewer you may not want to choose "Always open with" as it may stop that software from working.
