Looks like another master piece in the making Chris...It is going to come up a treat..So sweet.
Thanks Kerry, I'm going to try and cut up the borders, maybe tomorrow or Sunday. We're off to see Neil Diamond tomorrow evening, but I've got to see Mum in the morning and drop off some stuff for her. She broke her wrist yesterday and we've been in and out of doctors and having x-rays all day! Love Chris
Love to make baby quilts! Yours is full of cute animals. Some of your designs look something like a set I purchased from anitagooddesign.
P.S I've never used the set. My Lulu is now in high school.
Hi 'sailorgal' - most of these designs are from SWAK and a few from Cute. Thanks for the comment. You might have to keep the set until your Lulu has children one day! Love Chris
P.S. A big Aussie welcome from me.
This is so precious Chris.
It would bring joy to the little one for years to came. The collection of animals is a wonderful idea and I can not wait to see the finished quilt.
Bravissima!!!
Hugs, Roberta
It is going to be a wonderful quilt for Cohen. Love all the little animals, so cute for a one year old. Hugs Lynn
The designs are beautiful, that quilt promises to be splendid!
Wow Chris this owl is really cute :)
Thanks for showing all the blocks you have done so far....they all look great and I am positive you will make a beautiful quilt with these! Goodluck with the rest of it :)
Thanks so much Fatima, they are all lovely designs. I've enjoyed doing this one immensely. Love Chris

That is adorable! Great combinations of animals.
Where are you in the world that it is almost summer? I'm in Syracuse, NY and it snowed some yesterday and it's only three weeks into Fall here.
Hugs,
Lee
Hi Lee, I'm from sunny New South Wales, in Australia.
There a few of us Aussies who are experiencing unusual weather due to the El Nino effect. Love Chris
"What is El Niño and what might it mean for Australia?
Australia's weather is influenced by many climate drivers. El Niño and La Niña have perhaps the strongest influence on year-to-year climate variability in Australia. They are a part of a natural cycle known as the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and are associated with a sustained period (many months) of warming (El Niño) or cooling (La Niña) in the central and eastern tropical Pacific. The ENSO cycle loosely operates over timescales from one to eight years.
Potential effects of El Niño on Australia include:
Reduced rainfall
Warmer temperatures
Shift in temperature extremes
Increased frost risk
Reduced tropical cyclone numbers
Later monsoon onset
Increased fire danger in southeast Australia
Decreased alpine snow depths" -
This information was taken from our Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology off the internet!!!!
Quilt is looking good. I know what you mean about getting warm fast. I am finding have to get things done first thing as it is getting stuffy just after lunch. And Summer isn't here yet.
Hi Barbara, yes, I know what you mean and you would have high humidity too - we haven't got it here yet, and I'm dreading it!!!!!! Thanks for commenting, love Chris
wHAT AN awesome DELIGHT Quilt it is going to be!!!Well done
Looks terrific can tell it will be beautiful as you complete it.
This will be a wonderful quilt. Love the whole collection of animals
Thanks Angie, Naomi asked me to make one with American Woodland Critters. I've tried to have some fun with different colours, otherwise they would have all been in the brown, black, grey colourings. Love Chris
I admire your persistance in sticking with this quilt in spite of the heat! I like the use of a darker blue fabric here and there too, especially in the corner blocks. Your appliques lay so flat and without puckers that I am beginning to turn green with envy.
Thanks Penny for noticing. I'm a real perfectionist (anal my friends call it!!!) when it comes to Applique, and it has to be correctly hooped first off and then I have an excellent pair of curved Canary scissors which allow me to get in real close to the stitching! AND I only use cotton fabrics! Love Chris
I've never hard of applique scissors called canary scissors - we call them duck billed
Love the owl - Do you have many more to do before you assemble the quilt? Hugs to you! Laura*
Hi Laura, I'm hoping I only need 3 more to finish it off. It depends on how long I've got to have it as a finished single bed quilt. Of course, I can always just add more borders! Love Chris
Very nice work - so many animals for him to look at. He will be so happy to cover up with this quilt for years to come. :)
all just so cute, this will be beautiful completed, great job
hugs
Michelle
Beautiful work. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.
Sure the little child who gets this BIG gift will have fun with the quilt. i made one for granddaughter and her mother told her stories about the figures on the quilt.
Thanks Anita, this is for our 8th grandchild. I'm hoping Naomi will tell some stories about the little woodland creatures as Cohen ages. Love Chris
Chris, the quilt is looking beautiful. I also do not like to sew in the afternoons as my sitting room also faces West and it gets boiling. We have also had some very hot afternoons for this time of year.
Yes, Sarah, I think Australia and South Africa have similar climates especially along the east coast of Aus. Love Chris
This is cute. I am also working on a quilt for my Granddaughter. Maybe I'll get it finished for Christmas.... but I've got a lot to go.... hehe
Thanks for sharing these with us. You have done a great job.
Mechille :)
Continuing to go well Chris, designs are fabulous, look forward to seeing it finished for Cohen's birthday. Sandra.
Thanks, the 6th row will actually be the last row as I want the 4 darker ones in each corner. Love Chris
Wow Chris, this is really going to be a nice quilt! I can understand not wanting to get in the sewing room until it's cooler. I usually won't bind my quilts, since it's done by hand, until it's cooler since most of it lays on me during this process.
