What do you know about downloading the free version of Embird? If you don't register it ( I assume that means give them money) after 30 days does it stop working or can you still use it in a limited capacity?

I don't believe you can use the save feature in the trial....
I have and use Embird, my best investment with regards to my embroidery, I purchased via secretsof.com and that way you can also get a load of points and free designs as well, I ended up getting iconizer free with my points, I love studio and font engine, I don't have cross stitch, but even having a go at digitizing a design makes you truly appreciate the work and time which goes into any design and also you learn very quickly the value of a good and poor digitizer, but that apart just to be able to use the merge and layout basic facilities are brilliant... have fun xx

I have had Basic Embird & Iconizer since 2007...I couldn't be without it. When you download the "free trial" it is the entire program...and I believe it stops working after 30 days...and I can't remember if it allows you to "save" your design in the free trial version...but, it is very reasonably priced and you can buy each module when you are ready and need it...also the updates are free...and if they come out with a new version, it is usually only about $20 to purchase...a steal of a deal. If I had known about Studio back then, I probably would have purchased it too, and not the two other digitizing software programs that I have now...I am still thinking about adding Studio and the Font module to my Embird package...

I am pretty sure that after the 30 days it will stop working as it is only a trial period.

When I purchased mine way ba k in 2007 I used free for 30 days then had the option to purchase or no longer have it available. I think those of us who have Embird are very happy with it. Mine has been upgraded all along and I have the 2015 now with still another upgrade available to me. I don't think you could go wrong in trying it out at least to see what it is capable of doing and the price is reasonable should you decide you want it. You will find a good many Embird users here on Cute/Lillian
