Hi cuties think I have found the problem causing my thread to break as some of you may know who have kindly helped with trying to finding out the reason.

Thought I would let you know in case any one else has similar problem it is worth looking at to see if it is the same I removed the out side casing so I could see what was happening with the thread tension and noticed every time the thread had been caught on a very very small lip of plastic and buy the time it got to the needle for sewing was frayed so badly it just broke it had with friction cut a groove in this small lip of plastic so causing the fraying.
I can't see any reason for this tiny bit of plastic only to give a little more support for the out side casing to rest on but I don't think it will make any difference if it is removed as it really is no bigger than the end of a tacking pin and hopefully will stop the thread catching on it, since being aware of this problem my machine is now back to sewing beautifully.
Can only think it is a frozen shoulder that has caused this problem due to me having trouble lifting my arm up to thread the machine and may be getting the thread caught up on this lip of plastic to start with.
Another thing to look for though if you have similar problems

I hope when you have your camera back, you have a chance to post a picture of where on your machine, you found this piece of plastic. I am so interested. I have had my machine in so many time and in a short time, I end up with shredded thread. Thanks bunches! Laura*

Thanks for posting and letting us know what the problem was. You are very courageous to fiddle with your machine. I'm always nervous when I start fooling around with mine.

Hope your shoulder gets better soon!

I likewise had a similar problem with thread notching a grove on a plastic part. I used repeated layers of nail polish and filled in the notch and solved the problem. Occasionally have to retouch it but all works well. So glad to hear that it's solved

So glad you finally figured it out...just sorry you had to take our machine to be "fixed" and then bought a rotary hook...hoping you can send that part back...

Found a slight groove in the rotary hook first and thought that was the problem think that was caused by the real problem which I found later but would have needed a new rotary hook any way

Wow, this is so interesting - I have thread shredding quite often. I wish you had a picture as to where this small lip of plastic is within your machine I know the pain of a frozen shoulder - it is very difficult! I am so happy you were able to fix your machine! Hugs, Laura*

I have had it in both quiet a few years ago and had an injection in both I ought to go back to the doctors as when I had it before it got so bad I couldn't move my arm at all and wasn't getting much sleep and was passing out with the pain at the moment some days are worse than others I keep remembering the size of the needle and how long the injection took may be it is better now that was about 25 years ago surprising how many people you hear that have suffered from it hope yours is OK now

i think you mentioned that you had just had your machine serviced.. I would call my dealer and ask to speak to the service dept and run it by them just what has happened. See what they have to say. Kay

Think it might have been my fault threading it as I have trouble lifting my arm up some times due to a frozen shoulder should really go to the doctor and get an injection
