I have a Silhouette cutting machine and the software can use svg-files as cut-files. I originally bought it, just before the brother scan-and-cut was launched to cut appliqué pieces to use in (appliqué) designs, but so far I have used it for card making, cutting iron fabric to be ironed on my GDs hockey shirt and bookbinder's linen but not yet for fabric.
It seems a lot of trouble to just get a piece of fabric cut, to me anyway.
I do have one. And yes you can use SVG files, but they have to be converted on the brothersite ( see link) because Brother uses FCM cutfiles.
I did use mine for cards and texts of vinyl. I'm still experimenting, don't have it that long. But it's fun for another kind of craftwork.
I have had a scan and cut for 18months but honestly I haven't used it
I don't think I would either, since I'm not into scrapbooking or card making. I watched a video of it cutting fabric. When it was done she had to lift the fabric from the sticky page and it stretched the bias cut, it just curled. I didn't like that.
I like that you ask questions Toogie, I don't like when I am uniformed and can not answer and in your case, I can not answer. But, I am so looking for new projects from you with the "SVG touch or whatever files". You make the best stuff!
I don't have a Scan and Cut, but I did dl the files and it looks like regular emb files, the ones from Brother. I just put a link up in Freebie Section. See what you think
gerryvb, I did open them with my emb design program and they do look like emb designs. I guess I need to see how they stitch out so we will know. I am only speaking of the bear and the bird, ITH scan and cut, here from Brother.
