I made this one for my eldest daughter so on her next visit she doesn`t take mine, she was born in the year of the tiger so I embroidered the tiger on the front, I forget where I got that design from, I think it was a freebee, this time I tried to do lattice work for the quilting !!!

Oh dear the picture is on the side again :( I used my proper camera this time..... well to see this properly you will have to lay on your side :) thanks for looking.

P.S. was just thinking, if I put horsey pics on these do you think they would sell as souvenirs at our Horse Festival in May ?
Thanks Trish....

It's gorgeous Trish and yes, I think putting horse type designs etc. would sell really well. I love the gingham lining, always looks fresh and inviting. Love Chris

I love gingham and calico, they are both such a versatile material, can be dressed up so easily and at no great expense. Thanks for your comments and support, I am going to be very busy with all the wonderful ideas, am thinking of picking say 6 designs and making one of each and having say 4 or 5 different things, then as they sell I can make another one.... I think that will work.

I would make a couple to see how they go. What about tweeking the pattern a bit. The round part reminds me of a bottle holder. Maybe you could make a bottle holder with a strap with a horse embroidered on it. My cousin lives in the country and uses one all the time especially when she goes to the Field days. Leaves her hands free but can have a sip of water whenever she wants.
What you have done is great.

Oh yes, I can see what you mean, instead of the pin cushion part I could replace it with a tab that a belt could be threaded through ! thanks for the idea and for looking

I know your daughter will love it. Good thinking to make one for her so you keep yours. I think they are very versatile and can be used in so many ways so they will sell. Suzanne made one for me several years ago. I keep it beside me to hold my snippets of embroidery floss or other threads when ripping out something. It can also hold a covered drink or a paperback book. I hope you list of what it can be used for grows and grows.

thanks for looking. Yes it is amazing what they can be used for, my list is getting longer for the uses, I find many times that what an item was originally made for , is adopted for many different uses.

This is great, hope she loves it! They just might sell who knows. I'm sure you could take a few and offer other suggestions on a card pinned to them with other uses for non sewists. Everyone always has pins of some type around, either safety or straight. Would work for holding a small knitting project; an e reader, remote, crochet or just about anything...
