U take 2 sheets of WSS Put a handful of thread snips u have saved & sandwich them between the 2 sheets of wss. I then ran a basting stitch around mine before starting my design. Embroider the design, wet & presto this is how it came out.

What do u think? It's a good way to use all those snips. The design has 12,400 stitches & it took me about 30 mins to do it. 2 firsts 4 me. I used two different colors together n one needle several times. And basting all around the hoop first, this was a learning task.

This looks great. Nice way to use up all those thread snips. Hard to judge from the picture what's snips and what's stitching, but the end result is stunning. Where did the design come from? Flower for you.

this is sooo great , will start saving the snips now. is ur design a fsl, what will happen when u wash it?

lbrow by lbrow 18 Jun 2008

yes it's FSL & i believe it has enoug stitching on it to hold it together, Actually I washed it with a little dishwashing liq. & hot H20 to dissolve the wss. with no problems, but someone else has suggested using net or chiffon, a see through material to do it, I'll try it that way & post another. *4U

This is wonderful Ibrow - talk about gobble, gobble, that turkey certainly gobbled all those snip ends & made a wonderful job of it. Such a novel idea.

Nice work. You have been reading the tips.Try sandwiching the snips between 2 layer of very sheer fabric, and embroider over that still using wss in the hoop. The snips then will be firmly sandwiched between the fabrics and there will be no chance of them coming adrift if you ever have to wash it.This deserves a flower

It wasn't my idea jrob, the design was done to specifically use thread snips it's just I don't think anyone else has ever tried it. I've got thread snips running out of my ears & decided to try it works & I think looks good
