This is the Front side. The First Step was to embroider this floral design on fabric. We did not use any stablizer because her special batting was between the top and bottom fabric. The top thread was red and the bobbin thread was a multi color red/brown. This is a reversible tote. Then we sewed the decorative border. The next step was to put the fabric corners in. You will see in the photo of the inside that the back corners are a brown/white plaid. After stitching we cut the offwhite material to 1/4 inch for both front and back to take out the bulk. In the last step handles are sewn on with only the buttons holding them on. I guess you could stitch them down but it would show more on the inside if you reveresed it.

I am going to make a quilt using her technique. I love to quilt and now with my embroidery machine I can go to town. My hands just will not do hand quilting any more.

I would need my thinking cap on for this one, crash courses do my head in. If you ever write a lengthy tutorial please let me know. I love tote bags, I am tired of the $1 ones we buy off the shelf for groceries. Thanks for sharing

Betty Cotten's book, "Cotten Theory Quilting" is very detailed and many pictures. I am sure you can do it from her instructions.
