A potato bag is the best thing to happen to a baked potato. You wash the potato, dry it, wrap it in a paper towel and put in the bag. Holds 3 to 5 potatoes. Bake same amount of time. But the finished potato is soooooooooooo good. Moist, soft, cut it with a fork. Not wrinkled.

Forgot. DO NOT POKE WITH A KNIFE BEFORE BAKING. Never had anyone not like them.

So what is special about the bag; does it have any fiberfill or is it just a cotton bag?? intrigued.

I'm glad somebody had the courage to ask this question as I am also confused about the reference by hsarah to the use of polyester thread melting and causing a fire.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that Basketkase lady is just too clever. But it is so good that we all benefit from her creativity and generousity.

It's lovely. I just hope you used 100% cotton. Even the embroidery thread. That's why I don't put an embroidery on mine. I don't like the cotton thread that I can find - not very often either.
But polyester will melt and cause a fire. I sure love mine. And not just for potatoes. Corn on the cob. Cook acorn squash for 5 minutes then you can cut it with ease.
These are the most wonderful things. Use mine at least 3 times a week.
