here is my almost finished advent calender. I think I would like some kind of pocket to hold the candycanes for when one side is not in use. I am still trying to come up with something. I made 2 of the candycanes as I did not want just one of them to hang accross the picture of St Nick. I am also enclosing the "NEW HOOP" for my machine it is called a cuff I think

Why not hang them on the tree as they come off the calendar. You could also put the mini candy canes from the dollar store (one in each pocket) so the children have a treat each day until christmas.
hugs to you

I always thought you filled all the pockets with a candy and then removed one by one until you reach Christmas day.

This is turning out nice. After looking at the candy canes at the top could you attach them off the bottom so they don't hide the design where the animals are?

I also wanted to showcase the stipple quilting that I have here.Because of such big hoops I was able to do this panel in under 20 minutes & it took only 4 hoopings

Looks great. This is one of those want to make me one but my round tuit has not got into the create the way I want it just yet. I love your panel but I want to make picture & make pockets all on my own. I would probably put a bag on bottom attached to panel so it would not take from the picture or else put canes in a basket on table close by. I am sure whatever you come up with will be nice.~hugs~Mary

thanks Mary I didn't want them to get lost sew I thought if they were permanent then that would be better. I am still thinking as I am slower @ it these days LOL Hugs Loralye

because 2 layers of felt was too thick I taped a pc of felt on the backside sew it would be 2 layers strong & I used the matching bobbin thread in case the candy cane shows on the other side

I'm thinking a plastic pocket sew you can see through it to the panel picture what do you think?
