Tea pot mug rug. Hoop tear away stabiliser and add a layer of non-fray fabric. Colour 1 should match the fabric (not like in my stitchout!) Colour 2 is the words, but you could miss them out and put another design in. Colours 3, 4 and 5 should be stitched in the same colour. Fix a CD to the back and add a layer of backing fabric before stitching colour 5.

Interesting comments about cleaning these mug rugs. I'm wondering if a good spray of Scotchguard (the one that waterproofs fabric) will do the trick without spoiling the appearance of the items.
Actually I can't see that tossing the thing in the washing machine would do much damage.

Sounds like a winner! My daughter buys furniture from a store that treats scotch guard and also puts the felt pads under feet on all legs of their furniture. Just a nice customer service idea.

I've hand washed one of mine to test it and it was fine. I wouldn't put one in the machine because I think the CD would snap.

Sue, after making 2 of these, I decided that they would soon get spills of tea on them. So I added a top layer of plastic. This gives it protection.

Love the design and a good way to use some of the stack of old CDs.
