Applique Patch Sun or Sunflower These are the simple designs I use when I need to make a patch. Any design that fits within the shape can be added. First color is placement, Second color is tack down and third color is a narrow, not very dense zig zag, followed by a wider tighter zig zag. Make sure the fabric you use to patch is sturdy enough to patch a hole. You can choose to stitch just the sun design, or add the center either as an applique with the tack down circle and final satin zig zag, or use the fill stitch with seed-like texture and final satin zig zag. Whichever you do, stitch the outside satin last. Have fun!
