Sarah you have done an amazing job of this.
Well DONE!!!! I feel honoured to even play a part in this. hugs n roses, Meganne
Sarah, Your quilt is stunning and so very cheerful, and I'm so proud of you. I know the love you put into this, and I can't tell you how much it means to me, personally, as well as for the kids. We keep hearing how horrible the conditions are for these children, and how dangerous it is for them. I don't think we can even imagine the feelings they are going to experience when something so special, so individual is given to them. Something made from people around the world who cared enough to go to all this trouble, and expense, just for them. This will be a treasure of their lifetime. God Bless YOU, Sarah as you have blessed one very special little child.
I also need to tell you how red checked gingham makes me feel. My sister, who died at age 33 of melanoma skin cancer, loved gingham all her life. We had bridesmaid dresses made of gingham, and her baby's nursery was of red gingham. I try to sneak some sort of gingham into most every project. It gives me extra joy to see the blue and red gingham you chose. It just makes this extra special for me. Thank You :-) Love and hugs, Jan
Jan - Thank you. It was a delight to do, even with a bit of 'cursing' with the blue gingham which was so flimsy. I will take the quilt to London in May and post it from there. Thank you for all your patience with me. Hugs Sarah.
I forgot to add that red gingham is very special to me. My first school uniform in UK was red gingham and both my daughters wore red gingham when they started school here in SA. I love any gingham.
WOW, Sara, this is amazing being your first quilt and all..... well done, you! This will bring such joy to the lucky child who receives it. Bless you for your kindness! Hugs and *'s, Deb
Thank you Deb - all these comments have been wonderful. I have found it all very emotional. Sarah.

WOW this is AWESOME ! Do you know if there is anything like this project for the USA ? We have so many that are in need here ..
Your comments and kindness have bought a huge lump to my throat. Thank you all. Hugs Sarah.

Deine Decke ist wunderschön,tolle Farben
Die Kinder werden es lieben
You did a very nice job. I guess this is the first of many quilts you will be making. Very nice colors.
When you create things with your heart, errors become invisible. I'm sure te children will love it.
It is so beautiful and will make a little child very happy to have something so special just their own. I wish I could have made one for them too. Hugs Louise
They are going to be delighted to have a blanket made especially for them. Can see them showing off their individual quilts and all the wondrous designs.
Thank you Anita - they are going to have such a wonderful time with all these quilts.
This is wonderful. It's a wonderful feeling when you complete a project that is going to give so much joy to someone. Hugs
Oh my goodness.....Sarah you have outdone yourself on this quilt. It is so beautiful and looks so professional...Super job, my friend!! Vicki
I did post a close up as well - seems to have disappeared. I will try again.
I love it, great job. You made a brave choice with the gingham; those and stripes are so unforgiving!
Thank you Martine. I did not realise when I started just how difficult the gingham was going to be, especially as they are different weights.
It looks fabulous, and you learned all the important things about quilting all on your own! amazing! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Love the bright colours and animals embroidered. Will be treasured by some lucky child
