I needed some quick gifts. I had some extra battery tealights on hand, so I thought I'd make them some little covers. I cannot digitize yet, but I do have basic Embird. I have been sewing for over 50 years and I thought I could place a design on felt, add another piece of felt to the back, use the placement stitch of an applique around the design,(make sure you leave the base section unsewn so the light can shine between the felt pieces), manually add on with my sewing machine, centered under the design, a couple lines 2 1/4 inch apart and 1/2 inch high (to fit over the tealight base). Trim around both pieces of felt and add the tealight. This is the result. If you are any good with a sewing machine, you don't have to use an applique shape. Just stitch around your embroidered design with the other felt piece in the back, and make the little base stitches to hug the tealight base.

The birds are from Embroidery Library, The angel is from Dollarstitch, and the Modonna is from Outback(although I tried to find it again, but couldn't. It was one of his dollar designs a few years ago.) I know the tealight idea is from another digitizer, and I hope I'm not doing her any kind of injustice. I just wanted to have a universal blank to add onto from my personal collection of favorite designs.

Thank you. I remember that you sometimes use a collage type presentation, Shirlene. I liked it when I saw it and try to do so when I can.
